Do you think Subspace Emissary will include an "optional boss?" For those of you who have played FFVII or Kingdom Hearts, you know what I'm talking about: the WEAPONs and Sephiroth, respectively. A Melee equivalent might be Crazy Hand or Giga Bowser... except you don't really get to "choose" to fight them. Basically, a boss you can go through the entire game without beating, and who is far stronger then the end-game boss is. A boss whose sole purpose is to wipe the smug grin of satisfaction off would-be heroes with humiliatingly swift ends. So, you think we'll have one of those? EDIT: And if so, who? Will it be a Subspacer or, as I reckon it will be, some retro-era monstrosity brought back from the time when games were really, really unforgiving?

I don't think there'd be that kind of boss in SSE because if beating it is hard, making a trophy out of it would be harder.

Don't be such a pessimist There is a chance (and not a small one) that they could have done something like this.

good idea but i cant think of a boss that could feel that powerful position and appeal to the fans of each and every nintendo franchise. can anyone else?

Doesn't have to. It could be one so old-school and retro only huge Nintendo geeks would recognize it. Most people would be like "What is that thing?" while dedicated Nintendo fans would say "oh my God, it's _____! I thought they forgot about him/her/it! Oh... wait... wasn't he/she/it one of the toughest bosses in Nintendo history? [Insert choice expletive here.]" I don't think there'd be that kind of boss in SSE because if beating it is hard, making a trophy out of it would be harder.
Exactly. You would get a prize simply for beating it, to show off and say "I beat this monster!" If you get the boss itself as a trophy, then you're really good (and a bit lucky).

Well the only thing i remember people saying that one of the hardest old school bosses was Mike Tyson from Punch Out. Just imagine that, he would have the ability to bite your ear and take cheap shots at ya. He could also throw you through glass windows and beat you down with a woman.
Seriously though i don't see that happening, the point of going through the SE is partly for the story and partly for the content that can be unlocked. Unless this super boss gave you a super secret character or stage i don't think such a thing will exist in Brawl.

You'd have to be extremely lucky...well...unless...for this boss...since he/she is hard...you'll get a chance at trophyfying everytime.

I can think of some bosses that could be considered "super." 1. Arceus: the supposed "God/Creator" of all PKMN. Its ability to use any TYPE of PKMN moves is certainly formidable. It could serve as a worthy "elemental" boss. 2. Dark Matter: the "true" final boss of Kirby 64 that our little marshmallow could only challenge after obtaining every single shard. I was going to go with Dyna Blade, but I think he's more sinister. Here's how I picture the encounter could play out: Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jvEvF2ndBI&feature=related3. Medusa: Pit has had to deal with her in the classic Kid Icarus games and many new gamers are now being introduced to this Gorgon menace via the Virtual Console. Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dB2ObL_NPRQThose are the only ones I can think of at the moment. I'll try to come up with some more later.
