Capcom's fighting legend of Street Fighter arrives. Indeed, an amazing addition to the roster. Ryu bring his Ansatsuken skills to the Brawl! We have tried to recreate the essence of the pure fighting style of Street Fighter in Smash Bros. Brawl, but with the more direct accessibility of the more simplified & parsimonious control scheme one associates with Brawl. Got that? Excellent. One might even say... perfect! But enough light-heartedness: Ryu's special moves Standard Special Move | Hadouken Fireball | Side Special Move | Hurricane Kick | Up Special Move | Shoryuken Dragon Uppercut | Down Special Move | Roundhouse Kick | Final Smash | Super Attacks |
Curious as to what the Super Attacks do? I'll bet that you are. But probably not if you are a fan of the Street Fighter series, which you no doubt are if you're reading this. Use the Special Attacks to perform multi-hitting versions of the same moves. In addition, Ryu speeds up to Turbo! Don't fall over the edge when you do the Super Hurricane Kick! It's a long way down without a tether recovery. |

Nice text impression of Sakurai.  As cool as this would be I highly doubt it. If Capcom puts someone in it will most likely be Megaman. |

I figure Ryu et al shifted more SNESes than anything else on the market, so is a deserving case. I know he's not likely, but a guy can dream.
SFIV I don't reckon will be out until end of this year at the earliest, so not exactly direct competition for Brawl.
Unless you're in Europe or Oceania. : (

I mean...if you said "Snake should be in the next SSB game." after Melee came out I'm sure a lot of people would have said that they couldn't see him in it...but lo and behold there he is. So I can imagine Ryu in, but I don't think his chances are high. If he is in instead of Megaman though, I would find the tradeoff an acceptable one.

As I said before, Snake's inclusion is a major point for any "too far out there" character making it in.
If Snake is in, anybody short of a Mortal Kombatant can be in.
