Simple enough to figure, we have 23 announced characters thus far but how many more can we expect? I'll go out on a limb and say they might announce 1 or 2 more for the primary roster but how many unlockables? All and alll i'll say a 40 character roster in the end. 10-12 unlockable primary Nintendo franchised characters and 5-6 3rd party characters, this is not including Sonic and Snake as they are already in the main roster.
Come on people make a guess, and maybe even who those slots will be occupied by.

12 from SSB.. then 25 (including Shiek) Characters from SSBM.. They are doubled each installments. I would doubt SSBB would have 50. I'd say 38 to 45 characters. I could be wrong, it could be 50 and I hope I'm wrong.
But to be reasonable, I'd say 38-45.
Only half of the veterans have been confirmed. Where's the other half. If the other half have been confirmed, that will bring the sum up to 36..
Then, one more 3rd party character (we don't know for sure) That would be 37.
Then some strong rumored characters like Bowser Jr, Ridley and Krystal, and a few others. It'd be fair to say there is 5 more newcomers beside that one 3rd party character. The sum would be 42...
That's my best guess.

Wel i've actually been hearing rumors that the 3rd party roster might be extending to more than previously thought at 2-3 to maybe 4-5. The more i think about it tho, having 10-12 more nintendo characters seems low, ill change that to 15 or 16 hmmmm.

That is something..
Like Rubyheart for Marvel vs Capcom series. She was completely created for the games. Her originalty is from Marvel vs Capcom.
Yeah, Smash Bros needs a character that is originally from Smash Bros.. Like Master Hand for instance.
Or.. maybe.. maybe.. reveal whose body does Master Hand belongs to.
Maybe a character that have a stroke, normal hand: Master Hand, and crippled side: Crazy Hand... loves to collect trophies (Smash Bros characters)

i dont think lucarios in and neither is pichu.jigglypuff,mewtwo,pikachu,and pokemon trainer are the onlys i think are in.

Have any of you watch the video on IGN where they demo the game at E for All. They show the character select screen. I'm not saying it's the final idea, Sakurai has PLENTY of time to fix it up a bit. It looks just like the select screen for Melee. It has the same amount of space. Sadly, it doesn't look like too many more characters. But, for all I know, they might add another page, or a different interface. I'm just putting the idea out there. And if you haven't watched that video. You NEED to see it. It shows a bunch of different stuff on the game, we haven't seen yet.
