We have all seen the capabilities of the 3DS, we are also about to witness the evolution of the Kid Icarus series on this very handheld with the almost entirely new Kid Icarus Uprising coming soon to your hands. My question is, what other game can, not change up as drastically as Kid Icarus has done, but change to the point that it feels somewhat like something you couldn't expect from the series. Mario did it with Galaxy, Link did it with motion controls, even Kirby had a go with yarn. It is almost obvious that Pokemon should be something that would change things up to almost feel like a new series all together, and here's how i feel it can evolve on the 3DS.

Obviously Enough, Graphics

Yes, I know, this is expected, so I won't go into detail, Pokemon battles, at least, can no longer be limited to sprites. The 3DS has graphical capabilities to match the Wii, it would be criminal to exempt battles akin to the Pokemon Battle Revolution from the inevitable 3DS title. And Pokemon Stadium is to blame for this lust!!!

It's like, they are taunting us

Story Time, with Game Freak

When you compare Pokemon Black/White with Pokemon Yellow, the differences are countless, one of the biggest differences, and to me the most important, is the story. Black/White had added a lot of depth to the characters and to the story. It really felt as though they recognised that most Pokemon fans are now grown up, and decided to treat them like grown ups. The next Pokemon game should continue this trend, they should try to push farther than Black/White did with their plot and make kids and grown ups think about what they are doing feel as though they have done something in the game's main plot.

If only we can get more characters like Bianca

Big Love to Ma Game Mechanics

One thing I cannot forgive about Black/White is how underused some of they're more promising mechanics were. Ever heard of combination attacks? If so, how many times did you get a chance to use them? Even Rotation Battles and Triple Battles have had little representation in the game, if Nintendo want to show that they still are a company with new ideas, they shouldn't be scared to have more focus on the new game mechanics they have on offer with the game. They should have more emphasis and and depth to these new ideas and new ways to have fans and newcomers to continue to play the same series again and again.

That's right, Oshowatt just farted a rainbow....FTW

And this is how I feel Pokemon can evolve on the 3DS, It has happened to other series, so it is about damn time Pokemon should try and shoot for something beyond the stars, they have tried to change to some degree with Black/White, that attempt however has shown everyone that the Pokemon series can do a lot more to freshen up it's franchise and in the direction they are headed from Black/White, they can only do great things. What do you guys think, do you agree, or you want them to handle this differently?

I agree with a lot of things said here.  Since the handhelds have become so advanced it's come to a point where they need to catch this franchise up with the times.  A graphics overhaul would be very neat.
HOWEVER

I sometimes feel the pace of the console Pokemon games are much slower.  I wouldn't want it to completely mirror Colosseum or Battle Revolution, but I do think quality of the Pokemon used in Pokedex 3D should be the kind of sprites we seen in a 3DS Pokemon game.

It just goes to show that Nintendo doesn't ever change.  The Wii was a big change in a way, but if you look at their games you can see very plainly that nothing really changes.  They are very safe with their games and don't try anything TOO different.  That's not really THAT big of an issue, it's just something I've noticed.

So yeah, totally rooting for a 3DS Pokemon game that takes me by surprise.
