Im surprised no one made this thread yet.
So omg nintendo has proven again that theyre the video game company that innovates the most.
And they finally hopped on the HD bandwagon so the console will have 3rd part support past trashware games(I near pissed myself when they announced arkham city for it)
And the integration of the tablet style controller is awesome. I feel like this console is definably trying to dip into the popularity of the ipad and what not.
Now i just cant wait to see the first party games that we get for it.(Somehow i feel metroid will be a killer app for this system.)
I hope it doesnt come out to be too expensive though...

Yeah, that's my biggest concern. It seems with an iPad like controller, that would be uber expensive.
Jumping on the HD bandwagon is finally attracting third party games that are hardcore...more on the other thread.

But the tablet controller seems to be the gem of the new system and not the new system itself. I could imagine how adventure games like Zelda would play out to more exploration. Its really intuitive combining motion control with position viewing.

You dont have to worry about it price-wise. Nintendo has never overpriced ANY of their products. They care about their customers and dont try to rip them off like other companies *COUCH CAPCOM COUGH*.

According to IGN, the tablet seems to be light despite its bulky appearance. I was thinking the bulky look would make it hard to use.

Some WiiU specs:
- The console launches in 2012
- 1.8 inches tall, 6.8 inches wide and 10.5 inches long
- The controller screen is 6.2 inches big, 16:9, with touch screen and traditional button controls
- The controller has two analog circle pads, a Power button, Home button, D-pad, A/B/X/Y buttons (SNES, yey!), L/R shoulder buttons and ZL/ZR shoulder (?) buttons
- The controller has a rechargeable battery, built-in accelerometer and gyroscope, rumble feature, camera, microphone, stereo speakers, a sensor strip and a stylus
- Other controls include up to four Wii remotes, and all other Wii peripherals
- The console has no blu-ray, but will play proprietary, 12cm high-density optical discs (Take that piracy!) as well as Wii discs
- Full 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i support
- Includes full compatability with HDMI, S-video, component and composite
- The audio uses an AV Multi Out connector
- The console features and internal flash memory, and can be upgraded via either SD memory cards or external USB hard drives
- The CPU is an IBM Power-based multi-core microprocessor
- It has 4 USB 2.0 connectors

That works best when you have the WiiU in the living room. Otherwise, it's not really needed.

Six months, and still little information has come out.

I have a lot of high hopes for this E3.  I don't expect anything at all pertaining to Smash Bros. though, just some awesome Wii U stuff.
