The customization seems to be more of an idea that IGN is proposing.

Although that would be cool, there's no official info on this game yet.  Production hasn't even started.  There's just a bunch of ideas floating around.  But as soon as Uprising hops on store shelves this next Smash Bros. will become more and more of a reality.

The plan is to customize the characters some way in 3DS then you can export them to your WiiU and use them.

Hmmm, sounds like I'll go need to find a friend who actually owns a 3DS just so I'll be able to reap all of the benefits of SSB4.

I'm still toying with the idea of buying both... I would be working though once the WiiU is most likely out. Trying to plan to be independent seems scary but fulfilling.
