A new Kirby game has been announced for the Nintendo DS! You heard that right, the DS, not the 3DS!

This new Kirby game is not your standard enemy-swallowing-and-stealing-their-abilities Kirby game, but instead allows you to control up to 10 cute little Kirbys at once, sort of like Pikmin. Every time you eat a fruit, a new little Kirby appears. The Kirby's follow where ever you touch your stylus at. This game seems...interesting to say the least.

Here's a Famitsu scan of the game (WARNING: Giant picture ahead!):

I can't understand why Nintendo keeps making Kirby star in game games where he doesn't have his trademark copy ability... But at least I have Kirby Wii to look forward to, hehe.

I'm still going to purchase it. Kirby, Sonic, and Mega Man. I always buy their games even if they get a bad rep. I hope this will come out well.

I think that Nintendo should have done new IPs for Epic Yarn and this new DS game.  That way there are more franchises, and people stop complaining that Nintendo isn't doing any new IPs.  (Seriously though, no new IPs for the Wii Nintendo?  For shame.)

I really don't get why Nintendo likes to experiment new ideas with Kirby all the time >_>

After all, it's worked SO WELL with Starfox Undecided.

You don't like what they did with Star Fox? I preferred the flight-only games, personally, but I had a blast with the others.

But as to Muzy's comment about Kirby and his copy-ability, I'd have to agree. I'm always disappointed when I find out he doesn't get to copy powers.

You don't say? Interesting. The first game I played was one of the SNES games with the copy-powers, so whenever I think of Kirby, games like that come to mind.

Well yeah, originally he wasn't able to, but today, copying is his trademark ability. So having games without that is just plain weird.

I read somewhere the games fun to play and has a pretty nasty curve if you want to get a gold ranking on each level so im not too concerned with them messing with the formula

The original kirby is still a pretty good game (you can download it on nintendo's eshop). Even without the power sucking ability I think it'll be a good casual play.
