What's this all about? It's a topic, but more than just any topic we've done. This topic will talk about what we would WANT for the next SSB, if there ever is one. In here, we can discuss stage ideas, stage songs, characters, veterans, newcomers, assist trophies, poke'ball poke'mon, series representations, and a possible story-line. This topic is for us to pretend that there really is a super smash bros. coming out soon.

If this idea gains enough popularity, maybe it can evolve into its own childboard, having its very own, organized topics for stages, themes, characters, items, etc.

For SSB4, I already have 2 stage ideas and some stage themes from the hit Poke'mon game, Black version (and White). I have fallen in love with my Poke'mon Black version. It is probably the best handheld game I have ever played (and still playing). From my experience in the game, I have come to the idea that these two stages can very well be in the next SSB4:

The city exists on the bottom of Unova's central peninsula, south of the desert and north of the sea, making for a perfect harbor city."

Short description (from Bulbapedia): "N's Castle (Japanese: Ｎの城 N's Castle) is the location where ReshiramB or ZekromW can be caught. It is Team Plasma's main building, and is owned by N.

After defeating the Elite Four, this castle rises from the ground and attaches itself to the Pokémon League building. According to a Team Plasma Grunt, the castle was being secretly built for several years by overworking Pokémon that were taken away from other Trainers.
As the player enters the first floor, the player is stopped by six of the Seven Sages, who attempt to stop him or her. However, the Gym Leaders of Unova (with the exception of Cilan, Chili, and Cress due to the events in the castle being over when Bianca reached them) intercept the surprise attack, allowing the player to continue.
On the second floor, a member of the Shadow Triad directs the player to a room where two women await him or her, introducing themselves as Concordia and Anthea. Anthea heals the player's party and Concordia tells the player about N's childhood. A room on the third floor contains a PC that will allow the player to rearrange the party as well. In the same room, scientists mention that now, they could infiltrate the Pokémon Storage System to even release the Pokémon from Trainers' PC Boxes. The respective legendary Pokémon can now be caught, and if there is space in the party, the legendary Pokémon will be used in the battle against N, where it is also first in the party. Otherwise, it is possible to swap the legendary Pokémon from the PC to the party.
During the battle with N, he will use the legendary Pokémon opposite of the game's mascot.
After defeating N, the player must battle Ghetsis, who reveals that he was manipulating N and Team Plasma in order to achieve his own goals."

If they constantly pull the same trend as they did with every SSB game for the Pokemon characters, then the rep for the new gen should probably be Serperior :3
And, I'd like to see some more 3rd party characters as well for the game!
They need more Fire Emblem characters! Marth and Ike won't sooth my soul anymore! I need Jaffar or Lyn!
NEVER PUT IN ROB AGAIN! He's such a nuisance honestly! I never liked him.
Metaknight should NOT be the same as how he used to be!
NO MORE STARFOX CLONES! FOX AND FALCO ARE GOOD ENOUGH!
Sakurai, don't add any tripping either, kay? And don't focus so much on single player as much as how you did with Brawl. That was....a disaster.
Maybe add in Shy-Guy, another villain, or something?
They should totally have added in an Animal Crossing rep in the first place. Next time, there better be a rep!
That's all I gotta really say. And....speed up the game a bit? Not Melee fast, but you get what I mean...you don't wanna have to wait 3 seconds for your opponent to land on the ground again.

- Bring back the Melee cast (Mewtwo, Roy, etc).
- Expand the roster, including characters perhaps from Metroid, F-Zero, and others. More third-party characters would be great too, such as Mega Man and Ratchet and Clank.
- Return to more Melee-like physics, by all means. Remove the floaty gravity, speed up the combat, and make the characters and their attacks solid.
- Focus on the core of the game (multiplayer combat), instead of trying to create two games in one like they did in Brawl. Adventure Mode should compliment the Vs. Mode, not rob it of its potential glory.
- Increase the "Very High" setting for items, so that they can appear almost non-stop. Melee had a good system going, but Brawl's "High" setting felt like "Normal".
- Fix the online connections. That's not much to ask.
- Increase the number of people you can have on your friends list.
- Keep the Stage Creator, and expand the number and variety of parts people can use, give people more freedom to rotate parts, and increase the level of customizable placement (so that they can be placed closer to each other and such).

Why the heck not!? Samurott is awesome!
If anything, keep Red and add White in the game. Red should also have a Black alternate. White should have a Snivy, Tepig, and a Samurott. And if there is a rival trainer, it should be Silver. He should have a Cyndaquil, a Croconaw, and a Meganium (see where I'm going with this?). Ugh...but then there's third gen and...and there's like 3 poke'mon I want in there (Blaziken, Gardevoir, and Deoxys <3 ).

I am, honestly, shocked...that you didn't post it sooner.

Honestly, too much Pokémon...so let me start with Zelda.

1. Keep the Triforce holders:
- Link, Zelda and Sheik, Ganondorf

2. New movesets for "clones"
- Toon Link could have moves from the Deku Leaf as Up Special, Whip for Grab, Parry for Down special and maybe keep other iconic moves but update them like elemental arrows for special, tingle bombs for side special
- Ganondorf could have his thunder ball as his Special, Sword moves for normal attacks, Triforce Floor for Down Special, Levitate for Up Special, Phantom Ganon for Side Special
- Falco and Wolf could get all kinds of moves from their Arwings

3. If not new movesets for "clones", character alternates like what they did with Tiger Jackson and Eddie Gordo in Tekken
- Toon Link, Toon Zelda, Tetra. Toon Ganondorf, King of Hyrule being alternates for Link, Zelda, Sheik and Ganondorf
- Dr Mario and Mr. L as alternates for Luigi
- Rosalina and Daisy as alternates for Peach

4. New characters
- Midna --> for Sarah
- Vaati --> I think he's in Skyward Sword and I HOPE that he makes his debut
- Ridley --> Well you were able to downsize Bowser, why not downsize him?
- Melissa Bergman aka MB --> If you can't have Ridley, can't we have her? It would be a good nemesis for Samus
- Anthony Higgs --> I'd love to have a bulky Metroid character good guy like DK
- Krystal --> Let's have a girl from StarFox

- make it so that we can actually send our stages to friends seamlessly
- more diverse cast (as people have mentioned already)/more 3rd party characters (like Mega Man, Zeratul (surprised? ), Simon Belmont, etc)
- More stages (and get rid of New Pork City, that one is ridiculous!)

And why all the ROB hate?  He's not my favorite, but I enjoy using him.  Top of doom ftw !

Never enough pokemon!...Ok, I lied. There is such a thing as too much

Nice lists you three (yes, that includes Gex, Dylan).
-Midna has to debut. I don't care if she's in her imp-form or her princess form. I've been interested in her, character-wise, to see her debut in Brawl, but since that is not the case, I want to see her debut in a future Smash Bros. She HAS to make it. She was such an amazing character in the Twilight Series and truly deserves a spot now.
-NO ROB!!!
-Even though there are too many Mario series characters, I'd love to see Rosalina as her own character. She's actually my favorite character of the series. To be fair though, I'd love to see Cynthia more than her. Garchomp AND Lucario? (or just Garchomp, who would be perfect) lol, hell yesssss. I'd have her and a Garchomp in her team over rival trainer and female trainer

But, since recently I've been a freak over the Mother Series, this is what I'd like:

Bring back the Fourside stage!
If they keep smash balls in, change Ness and Lucas's final smashes to PK Rockin and PK Love repectively
Add in Kumatora and Poo, the real users of PK Starstorm
Change Ness and Lucas's movesets to what their moves were in their actual games.  Ness would possibly have PSI Lifeup, which would gradually make him regenerate health as his regular special, PSI teleport, which would act as a dodging move,m though they could make it his recovery (up+B) move or as a counter (down+B) move. For his side B he would have PSI Paralysis (self explanatory), and for his down+B (if PSI Teleport is up+B) would be Pk shield, which would be a temporary shield (cut damage in half though) from projectiles (including items thrown at him).
I'll come up with a moveset for Lucas Kuma and Poo some other time
