My ASL professor emailed this link for everyone in my class to try for some non-class-related fun: http://www.ironicsans.com/state22.htmlGive it a shot! It gives you 10 minutes to list all the U.S. states you can, and if you don't get them all, it tells you all the ones you missed. When I first tried it, I only got up to 25 states, which resulted in a big facepalm when I saw the list of the ones I forgot. (something I've gotten used to now - it's so aggravating when you KNOW them but can't seem to grasp them from your immediate memory.) I've been practicing and now I can list them in a matter of minutes. Currently at 4 minutes so far (6 minutes remaining on the clock). With any luck I'll be down to 1 minute soon. Feel free to post your score!

I got 43 of them. I got most of the ones in New England except Massachusetts. I was surprised at that because I thought it was my problem area because the states are little. I forgot Idaho,Indiana, Iowa, Massachusetts, Nebraska, Utah, and OPRAHLAND (otherwise known as Illinois) . I was surprised I forgot about Illinois.

Something that really helped me was remembering that there were eight states that began with the letter M, and that there are four with four letters (I'd always get the four confused for each other and forget at least one).

Trying it twice a day (once in the morning, once at night) has done a lot. I can now list them all in under 3 minutes.

Haha, it's only cheating if you stare at the map and type at the same time. =P

Hmm, seems I've come to innately implement numeric mnemonic devices. I've clustered Utah, Ohio, Iowa, and Idaho together as a group of four (as the short-named states), while I've clustered the other short-named state (Maine) with that of the eight "M states".
Perhaps not technically numerically correct, but it gets the job done!
Oh and now I'm at 2 minutes on the test.

Coincidentally, I need to know all of the state locations for an upcoming exam. I found this geography quiz to help me study, and by now I can do them no problem. ^_^ http://www.lizardpoint.com/fun/geoquiz/usaquiz.html Feel free to give it a go, too!

I was taught a song thats basically the states in alphabetical order "alabama alaska arizona arkansas california colorado connecticut doo doo doo" then the rest. My problem with that test is I appearently can't spell Hawaii..... I had it as "Hawai" and could not figure out what was wrong...
