You might want to try deleting your internet cookies. I've tried it on different computers and it works just fine on them.
I'd try it out myself, but the laptop I was having the chatroom trouble with is no longer usable.

okay...so I got into chat since I saw amanda and someone else there, and tried to go in.

I succeed, but instead of getting them I get some German guy with the username "login".  Any reason why this happened?

In regards to you seeing Amanda and someone else in there, I believe the Who's Online chatroom panel is pulling names from the first handful of members in SP's members list. It told me Dylan was in chat earlier, and then later it said that SmashMaster and forsakenlament04 were in there. The last two haven't been on the site in 2.5 and 3 years. In fact, it's still telling me that SmashMaster's in the chatroom.

As to the German guy, I checked the system and apparently the chatroom allows non-members to enter as well. There is no link between chatroom access and member accounts, hence the necessary login names. Whatever you call yourself is what you're identified by while inside the room. That doesn't explain who he was or why he was in there, but my best guess is he's not out for our blood, so no big worries.

Also, it's not showing anyone who really is in there (just Muzy and myself, at the moment), so feel free to check in every now in then just in case.

Until Rocky is able to get a handle on restoring the Chatroom, I'll be heading moderation along with a few "in the crowd" agents with whatever resources I have. Due to the very real threat of impostors obtaining private information, sexual predators, and nameless prowlers after personal information, reports of such will result in chatroom IP address bans.
