I decided to try it. My copy seems to freeze with the stage select screen so I decided to use the randomizer and it worked well. What can I say, it seems like everyone became overpowered. And actually it's silly fun. Balanced...uhm...kinda, I guess when all are broken, no one has an advantage. Interesting additions that I like:
Zelda: Far-ranged s-air and s-smash. It takes getting used to though because there's a prescribed length for the long ranged version, same length for the short ranged one. Link: Sword moves are WAY faster. I mean, I can smash after smash and it's still strong and quick. I like the bow and how it now becomes either a fire or ice arrow. The boomerang is way fast and goes far. His spin attack has some power, it can finally break smash balls. This is one overpowered Link. Toon Link: Something like Link with the arrows. His spin attack can now move horizontally on ground. Interesting addition. His sword attacks now have more power. Pikachu: There's more length to the electrocution attacks especially the aerials. Speaking of which, the b-air has some distance to it and can be used for recovery. Takes getting used to though. Aerial attacks are also much stronger. Ivysaur: Although I didn't see much changes in Squirtle and Charizard, Ivysaur seems much faster and more agile. I like the speed in his tilts. His bulb explosion attacks are now rangier and stronger. Love the addition. Jigglypuff: Her sing is much bigger. Her pound is stronger. I actually like spamming sing now. HAHAHA. Oh, oh, and rest finally heals her! hahahaha. Sonic: Damn, his aerials are much stronger. I feel that he got slower though but that's overcompensated with new found strength.
I can't list everything because there's bound to be more. One thing I noticed is that it made some of the moves MORE faithful to canon or to intuition. Some felt really intuitive like Zelda and her ranged magic.
Could I just say that it feels like anyone can finally play this game and just have a silly time. I actually like it. But it loses its slow pace that I sometimes like because of the strategy and skill involved. I sort of like how Balanced Brawl did the revisions that as if nothing changed except stuff here and there. They compensated for some of the weaknesses of the characters. It still entails the same skill while removing spammy-like moves.

I absolutely love Toon Link in Brawl Minus. Fire/Ice Boomerang = I actually like playing both Links in Brawl- more than Zelda...oh and I like using Sheik again :-P. I love how the 2 Links' fire/ice bow/boomerang work. It's really fun. Actually, I like Brawl- for its fun factor but I like Balanced Brawl for its skill factor. They really feel like different games.

I see what you mean by it, but sometimes, Brawl- just takes the moves and characters literally. If you haven't tried Bowser yet, you'll know what I mean once you play as him (he FEELS like a boss lol).

I'm not sure if it's exactly balanced but I'll tell you that EVERYONE is overpowered...except maybe Zelda but that might be because I'm not used to her yet. I see what you mean by it, but sometimes, Brawl- just takes the moves and characters literally. If you haven't tried Bowser yet, you'll know what I mean once you play as him (he FEELS like a boss lol).
Yeah, I kinda like that it is literal. Some moves really have new effects that are literal to what the move is. It's fun. :-P ETA: Could I just say I love the attacks of Sheik that render him invisible. It makes for some cool sneak attacks. Oh and Link's arrows vary from: Regular Fire Ice Lightning ---> Probably to compensate for lack of Light Arrows :-P

Yeah, that's how it turns out to be, and with Zelda, it's more of a distance game with her. You'll always want to keep a safe distance when using her, and use her smash attacks, down tilt, both side aerials, and down aerials a lot. Also, you can do Din's Fire twice in a row! And Noah, that's the point; every character can pull off combos that can kill you with one go

You're not editing your wii per se... you're using your sd card to modify the game itself in real time.

But if i do modify anything i'll be too tempted and end up modifying my wii then ending up breaking it through some loop. 1/0 : ::0
