I know that each move in melee had to have some use so... I want to know what moves you guys hate and how do some other people use that move strategically
I will start, I do not like Ness's yo-yo, Kirby's hammer, shieks chain. I like all these chracters but I do not like these moves i think they are useless please tell me how to use them strategically and moves you do not like use or feel are useless

use kirby's hammer when jumping upward toward an opponent especially if you intend to cross them rather than collide . i rarely use it on the ground , but it can be used as an extended range alternative to a smash .

sheik's chain is good for keeping an opponent at a distance when they are already somewhat close . it's also good for blocking when someone tries to jew projectiles at you . i think this is sheik's best special moves . it takes a little time to get a feel for it , so some people give up .

When I was playing against my friend (Falco Player) I always got pissed on the A-Down Move.
Then I mastered Luigi and it all became piece of cake for some reason.

Sheik's chain can also be used to really rip up somebody trying to recover.  Just dangle it over the ledge they are trying to grab on to.  They will recover (because you keep renewing their up and B move) but you can deal a ton of damage to them before they finally get back on land.

How about moves that needed to be tone down, I thought marth was way to powered up in melee. one smash attack (smash side a) and marth sent you half way acroos the stage, even more if you were a light character

Captain Falcon's weird "swooping" air-grip move (followed by an explosion) - I couldn't get it to work reliably.

I also hated always getting the "butterfingers" "bonus" (minus 500 points).

I also don't like King DDD.

Just for being there.

I never liked Sheiks chain until I figured out that you could swing it around. I had always thought it just came out and sat there but once I figured out how to use it I used all of the time. It's good to use if you have an enemy in front of you and an enemy behind you.

I never really liked
C. Falcons B
don't really use Kirby's B that much...
and DK's Up+B isn't a fav.
that's all I can think of at the moment...

To me kirby's b was fun to use at an edge so you could suck them up and fall down, players usualy brake out of kirby before he gets ko'd so that gives you a chance to get back up and your friend to face a loss of stock or a negative point

ahh the dreaded Kirby drop.

Even if they don't break out, they KO before Kirby does, so Kirby can recover on most stages (at least FD)

Another Kirby Drop tactic is to spit them out under the stage, lets say Dreamland 64
