some of them are . mostly the ones that existed at the launch of the snes , like yoshi . not the ones in the later years that came out around the same time as the n64 . those are noob characters .

Geno came out on that Mario Seven Stars RPG game on SNES. You dont look at him as an old school character, why not?

i just explained this . he came out about 6 years after the SNES , which puts his creation right about the same time n64 came out . he was one of the stragglers in that generation of gaming . i guess you could consider him to be old school if you grew up playing only n64 or later . every school is old school to someone .

I voted for the Duck Hunt Dog...I just think it would be funny to play as him.  More importantly it would be funny to beat the crap out of him.  If there is some truth to the rumor that ATs can become PCs, then I'd love to see Little Mac.

I just don't see the dog having enough information to build a full set of moves off of.  As an AT, he can summon ducks, or clay pidgeons to obscure/damage.

And I've never heard of this rumor that an AT can become a PC, but it sounds extremely unlikely.  If they wanted Little Mac to be a PC, they would have made him one.

In future games, maybe he'll be one, but for now the AT rank seems permanent to me.

It got started when Sakurai mentioned how he'd like certain ATs to be playable characters.  Also I agree with you about the moveset, but if they could figure it out it'd be cool.  IGN had some ideas for him in their "Smash It Up" column.  I believe the B up was grabbing the necks of two ducks and having them lift him onto the stage.  His taunt is obvious of course...
