@ Bryan who is confused about Amaterasu and her playstyle!
Amaterasu is a sun Goddess, though obviously in mythology, Amaterasu's genderless. The small voice you hear is Issun, Amaterasu's little companion that follows and guides (sorta) her through her journey to rid the world of darkness. And for Amaterasu's playstyle, from what I've seen, she's not that bad, and neither is she overpowered. If you look at her damage compared to what Thor did, he could easily take down half of your health in a matter of a 13-hit combo, then going for a super. Amaterasu isn't as strong, and her combos don't last as long as SOME PEOPLE'S (Chun Li with a 20-hit air combo >.>). I think everyone on the roster so far is pretty balanced, because if you look carefully, though Thor, Super Skrull, and Hulk can kill you in a matter of a few combos with supers, they're a lot slower than Ammie, Chun Li, and Iron Man (who's extremely fast).
^ This.
@ Everyone
In terms of a character's capabilities, this is a Capcom game (and a new one to boot). Capcom actually focuses on the importances of balance and gameplay. Nintendo doesn't care about balance. All they have to do is slap a character, put in anything, and BAM! They won't even bother with the mechanics to balance in a game appropriately. Capcom used to do that a lot too (like the utter brokenness that was MvC2) but they at least TRY to fix their fighting games now. You might as well call EVERY character in MvC3 broken because they can all pull off insane combos. But the beauty of it now is that you can still fight back and have a chance instead of being overpowered all the time by a certain character *cough* Metaknight *cough*. And if everyone on this site hates one particular character in Brawl (which I will not say who), then everyone will hate MvC3 and start calling it a "broken game."
Watch. As soon as it's released... "Omg,
Dante is so broken! He's too powerful and has a long-sword!" and for the God-tier character that Capcom could not fix correctly and can kill you with 10 different infinite easy-to-do combos (example): "
Wolverine isn't broken! He takes skill to use!
Dante is more broken than him!"
And I'm not saying any of those two are going to be in these future rants, but this is just an example. And unlike Shion, I am a mix between fun and competitive. I like a good challenge and rule-settings are fun when they're fun, but I dislike it when my opponent has a character that's too powerful and unfair to do anything against (example: My opponent has a character that can kill in 2-combos, literally).
NO GAME is going to be perfectly balanced, but there is such a thing as near-fairness instead of having 3 or 4 characters doing the things Sentinel, Metaknight, or Pikachu (Brawl Minus) can do in their games under their tier-list. I don't believe in tier-lists because some so-called mid-tiers are annoying (like Luigi) while in general, it encourages people to ONLY use one character to "win." I know Olimar is up on the list, but NO ONE complains about him. I admit he's got some pesky advantages, but I play my own way without being a total dick about it.
So if anyone has anything to say to me in disregards, then you (person) and Shion are just far from the right answer (or a mature response), so don't
brag or anything because of your bias-bullshit. I haven't touched a single Devil May Cry nor Okami game and although I don't know their characters too well, that doesn't mean I can't defend what I have not tried (unlike some people here).

So my advise here is stfu, and play the god damned game to see for yourself (BECAUSE IT'S STILL IN DEVELOPMENT!!!). Thank you.
