Well, we had JumpFesta and now it's whobby that's underway. And they have a new demo. Check this thread for updates.
Impressions
1. Mario
2. Donkey Kong
> DK's Final Smash used correctly can take up 90% of a stage. His FS was originally thought to be ineffective.
> Is the same...hmph3. Link
> The end of Link's spin attack is weak.4. Samus
> You can't turn into Zamus at the start of the match at all.
> She can't missile cancel.
5.
Kirby> Final Cutter has been changed once again. It's different than 64 and Melee.
> Starmen could come out of his FS. But uhm...here's the bad news. PCs thrown out of the pot could easily get them without Kirby even reaching any of the starmen > White Kirby is back!> His Hammer Special was changed. On the ground: It's the same with more power. In the air: it no longer spins around like in Melee, now it acts the same way as it if was on the ground.
> Forward Air: Still the triple kick. The last kick has good knockback.
> All attacks just seem imroved overall from Melee. 6. Fox
> Victory pose: Puts hand on hip, is facing sideways and says something Like Diddy's popgun, Fox's could also explode if overused. (Unconfirmed)7. Pikachu
8. Diddy Kong
> A very fast combo character
9. Meta Knight
> No strong attacks. He's the kind of character that relies on multiple hits.
> Good Beginner Character
> FS is very strong and has a wide hitbox.
> Not much use for gliding.
> Taunt: Flaps his wings and does a "warp" or some sort. 10.
Pokémon Trainer> You don't start with Squirtle. The starting pokémon that comes out is chosen by random.
> Here are his costumes: Red, Green, Blue, and Black & White (original GB version)
> When wearing the B&W costume, all of his pokémon are also black. Ain't that neat?> Takes about three seconds to switch out pokémon
> Lots of Invincibility frames when switching out pokémon.
> You can't play as the female counterpart.
> His FS is VERY powerful.> If he loses, on the victory screen, he puts his head down, he gives credit to his pokémon and doesn't clap. The last pokémon that he used will be shown clapping.
> Pokémon stamina seems to have no effect when you're watching it.
> Throw a pokémon out and they do their cry...how nostalgic> Final Smash is pretty effective. it can be performed in mid-air also.
> He does appear on some of the moving stages, but only after the stage has come to a stop. The user saw him on Delfino Plaza during the stationary parts of the stage.> When a Pokemon is KO'd, the glowing platform comes down as usual, but Pokemon Trainer throws a Pokeball on top of it. The next Pokemon in order starts out on the new life. So if you get KO'd as Squirtle, your next life starts out as Ivysaur, and so on.
> More confirmation of a GB-colored Pokemon Trainer. This time we learn that his Pokemon take the appearance as well. Other PT colors include a Brown/Tan costume, a White/Red costume, a blue costume, and a green with dark green costume.
> Victory Poses: Puts his arms aorund Ivysaur and rubs his head. Ivysaur looks happy. Hugs Squirtle. Squirtle looks basful.
> Defeat Pose: Hangs his head in shame and face palms himself. The Pokemon claps for him.
> The announcer says the name of the winning Pokémon, not "Pokémon Trainer". a. Squirtle
> It has fast attacks, but no reach.
> Its Water Gun is chargeable> Withdraw is useful, quick and easy to SD with
> Victory pose: runs from in front of the camera, spins around PT and does a victory pose with his left hand.
> Waterfall is OK. it wasn't used much. Someone may have angled it at a downward angle, but it's unsure if they did or not.
> Good air control. It seems like Squirtle will have a good aerial game during play.
> Squirtle is comparable to Young Link of Melee.
> Down Smash: Makes water splash on both sides of him.
> Forward Smash: Withdraws into his shell and lunges forward.
> His double jumps is like an ninja cartwheel in the air.
> Seems like the least useful of the three Pokemon, but should be a good character once his attacks are able to be controlled better. > Neutral Air: Withdraws into his shell and watr sprinkles out.
> When you get knocked on the ground (like if you miss a tech and just lie on the ground for a minute), he will lie on his shell and wiggle his arms and legs until he can get back up.b. Ivysaur
> It is the most balanced of the Pokémon.
> It is immobile when using Bullet Seed.>Ivysaur's jumps are quick but short.> Razor Leaf: One big leaf comes out. Is similar to Link's Boomerang. Unsure is multiple leaves can be sent out.
> Vine Whip: On the ground it can be used as a continuous whip to stun opponents. Like Sheik's whip, only more useful. It was hard to recover with it. It has the recovery range between Link and Young Link's Hookshots.
> A: He shakes his leafy parts, and they get bigger the longer you do the attack. This was seen and not performed by the person first-hand, so its unsure it you hold down A or tap it again and again. It provides good cover on both sides.
> Forward Smash: He grabs the ground and lunges forward link a sling shot. He returns to the starting position after use. His Down Smash is similar.
> Ivysaur seems pretty useful. His attacks are mostly leaf attacks and headbutts. > Dash Attack: A running headbutt. c. Charizard
> It is heavy, medium speed, and attacks using claws and tail mostly.
> It has 3 jumps.> Its Fly is powerful because it has an added attack. He flies straight up and burns anything around him.
> Its Flamethrower is identical to Bowser's Fire Breath.> Down A is a tail sweep, similar to Mewtwo's in Melee. Had some knock up.> Forward Air: Wing Attack.
> A,A,A: Claw, Claw, Wing Attack.
> Up Special can be continued and hit multiple times. (I assume it can have a few extra spins from only ONE use)
> Up Smash: An upward headbutt.
> Forward Smash: Massive Knockback.
> Has a completely red color. 11. Ike
> If Marth is good, Ike is great! His Side Special charged can KO Kirby and Meta Knight at 35%.
> Eruption has a lot of range and can be used in the air.
> Victory Pose: "I only fight for those I protect" (in Japanese though)
or jumping very high and coming back down12. Peach
> Can float cancel13. Yoshi
14.
King Dedede> Colors: Pink w/ light pink trim. Purple w/ blue trim. Has GB colors (gray/white and that off-green color). > King Dedede has the same voice as his anime counterpart. (Japanese voice. Not 4kids voice) > His on-screen appearance was shown in DOJO...the Waddle Dee Shrine
> a heavy, slow, powerful character
> Suction is beastly because of it's force and strength,
however, it spits out fast with a short distance and low damage.> Attacks are fast, but hammer is sluggish.
> His Up Special has good knockback, but is completely vertical, like Ike's.
> He has 4 mid-air jumps (5 total jumps).
> His Waddle Dee throwing attack is weak,
however, Waddle Dees are better than turnips in terms of knockback and damage. They are thrown pretty far, so it's a bit hard to suck them up with Dedede's Inhale. > Doesn't move during FS.
> Victory poses: Leans on his hammer or puffing out his stomach
> Has less super armor frames unlike the other heavyweights.> Standard A is a three swing combo. If you continue to press it, he spins the hammer around and you see light blue/purple/pink colors.
> Up Special is slow, but very powerful. If you want to cancel the jump, you have to do so half-way through or you will botch the landing.
> About Bowser's size.
> Dash is a running faceplant like from his boss battles.
> Lays down with his hand supporting his head from crouch (The lazy stance we've seen in videos)
> Neutral A in air looks like an attack as he puffs up, but wasn't sure.
> Final Smash was good. The Gordos send people flying and the user got a few KO's with it.
> He's slow in speed, but attacks come out quick and powerful
> Victory Pose: He's sitting with a Waddle Dee and rubs his belly happily.
> His inhale can suck up items, just like Kirby. He was seen sucking up a Capsule and possibly a Star Rod.
> Dash attack is his trip attack.
> Forward Smash is him holding the hammer above his head and bringing it down with great force.
> Down Smash: Spins around holding the hammer low to the ground.
> Forward Tilt: Spins the hammer around multiple times. 15. Bowser
16.
Wario> Victory pose: laughing and holding his belly> His Bite can catch fast attacks. He was able to stop Pikachu's Skull Bash. It's good for stopping fast attacks.
> Down A is a spin similar to Pikachu's.
> Forward throw is a giant swing from Wario World.
> The Bike is easier to control than Yoshi's Egg Roll. You can hop off of it at any point and the bike will continue to move.
> Corkscrew is him spinnning around multiple times as he jumps.
> Down throw is a basic slam to the ground.
> Neutral Aerial attack is a spin in the air, in which he looks like he's sky-diving.
> Down Aerial is a chop that has some start-up lag.
> Down smash is a breakdance that is similar to Peach or Pikachu's, but lasts a bit longer.
> Victory Pose: Does a donut on his bike and strokes his mustache.
> Final Smash is the same, only he's a lot faster and sronger.
> Entrance: He comes in on his bike, it crashes and he dusts himself off. (Like the original trailer)
> Defeat Pose: Claps quickly and yells as if he's making some sort of gesture to the winner.
> His Corkscrew hits multiple times and sucks the person in (think Young Link's Spin Attack). It's not very powerful
> His Bike hits multiple times.
> Victory Pose: Him laughing a lot (We now know all three victory poses for him).
> Wario Man lasted about 20 seconds. It's true, if you use the Bike, you go flying right off. If you're KO'd, you lose your FS. 17. Items
> Dragoon does 42% damage. It KO'd Mario at 0%.
> Muddy Mole is an assist trophy.
> There are also a few new items such as a time bomb and spike bomb.
> New Pokémons: Shaymin
, Cherimu, Darkrai, Chansey, Eevee (but evolves into one of the eeveelutions and attacks as that) > Some people worry that the Smash Ball occurs too much.
> Final Smashes CANNOT hit people under the influence of the starman> Barbara the bat (you know the one in the band, the one with the guitar) and Adeline (Kirby series) are ATs
> ATs don't appear much. > Stafy has mixed reviews, some good, some bad
> Peach's vegetables appeared as an item in the match, even when no one was playing as her.
> Latios and Latias are not hard to avoid.
> Waluigi is a very effective AT.
> Metagross: We had heard his attack was earthquake, but now we have more details on it. He stomps the ground once and everyone on it gets stuck (similar to DK's forward soecial). He stomps again and sends everyone flying (those IN and ON the ground). He does this about three times.
18. Stages
> Ashley, 9-Volt and Jimmy appear in Wario Ware...it is assumed that none of them will be PCs
> Pictochat music was bothering.
> The PictoChat stage sometimes has impenetrable walls and can trap you on a side of the stage.
> Onett impressions: Virtually no changes made.
> Gourmet race music for the Halberd
> When there are arrows pointing up at the PictoChat stage, people fly start flying if they get hit by it.
> Smashville has a balloon that drops items.19. Techniques
> Dash Crouch Cancel has changed somehow???The stages available are Battlefield, Battleship Halbred, Norfair, Hyrule Temple, Onett, WarioWare, PictoChat, Bridge of Eldin, Delfino Plaza, Yoshi's Island, Smashville, Castle Seige, Pokemon Stadium 2, Skyworld, Lylat Cruise
