I'm not going to quote the whole post but wow Bobby! This Daragus is definitely a great and worthy opponent! And from the whole background about him, he seems to have a ton of experience in the art of war and in his meddling with dark Farraen magic. He definitely needs a profile asap! I want to see the actual fight scene right now between Daragus and Alazar already lol. Preferably the first time when Alazar  gave Daragus his first scar  Grin so glad u thought of all this Bobby!

Thanks! Cheesy Glad you like him!

I'll get to work on that profile as soon as I can. Major homework this weekend...blah.

He develops a lot in 2100. Historically, he positionally rose to witch-lord, fell to witch-mage, and rises to witch-lord again for the story and then eventually "witch-god".

He's acquired some new techniques, too. For one thing he's come to implement the corrupted dust for a wider-range of formulations and effects. There are others but I'll see if I can expound on them in the profile. Tongue

So I guess this leads me to some questions.

1. Anyone see anything that could be taken away, added, or revised?
2. What kind of weapon should Daragus have? (I'll work in a history for it)
3. What do you think Daragus should look like? What should he wear?

All these can be critical to his background.

Commonly yes, but the title can also be applied to men in certain situations. Especially in older times the term was not so restricted to women (and Daragus is from a much older time). A good example of this is the "Witch-king" of Angmar in the Lord of the Rings: http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Witch-king_of_Angmar

I'd have totally taken that title but Tolkien thought of it first.

Yeah, I think they only said it once or twice in the movies...I think. Altogether that's like 9 hours - good luck catching things like that!

Interestingly, in Wicca, both sexes of magic users are called witches, and to call a male witch a warlock is regarded as an insult.

On that thought, other options include Wizard, Sorcerer, and possibly Warlock. Attaching a positional title to the end to portray progressional status is desired, such as "-mage", "-lord", or even "-king" (desirable, but also taken if it's matched up with "Witch"...). Wizard doesn't appeal to me at all though, since it gives the idea of all age, graying hair, wisdom, and all-robe-and-no-strength, with every connotation opposite to that of a warrior.

Opinions?

This? lol weelll, hmm he needs a really special weapon, one that he probably found during a crusade when he was a young talented soldier in the army and influenced him to dabble in dark magic. I see a spear-like weapon but that's just me, you get the final say of course. I say Daragus should always be cloaked in darkness and has a hood on at most times unless against Alazar or in front of his own followers. When Daragus is in combat I say that he should be shirtless and be built showing off his dark tattoos that cross all over his body. That's just me though it's an idea I'm willing to share. Tell me what you think Bobby and everyone else who wants to comment.

Oooo, I like! He should probably have that spear-like thing and a sword, enchanted with magic.
A black cloak is a definite, especially with a hood for those darker scenes. I like the idea of being able to have it pulled back and his cloak flailing in action.
Showing off his tattoos on occasion is a good idea too. The idea with them is they portray a dark eliteness, and represent his evilness, power, and rebellions against the kingdoms. Maybe not always remove the cloak/armor in every battle, but definitely from time to time!
I'd kind of like to do something like that with the Azavonian priests, too, since they bear the Sacred Seal, and it's very important. Those with the Sacred Seal cannot be influenced by Daragus' shadow, and it symbolizes their permanent and royal inclusion into the Sacred Bloodline. Plus it also gives them the right of passage in certain places, in addition to lighting up with supernatural empowerment from the High Magic in times of distress and need.

With Daragus, overall he should appear intimidating, sinister, and powerful when he regains strength.

Go ahead and toss out here what you already have. It's kind of hard to talk about something without starting with what you have. Tongue

From our talks, we have the initial idea that...

Your character is a villain who lost his way after his best friend was killed.
What he does that's so villainous has yet to be decided.
He's an actor.
He discovers that his friend is sealed in death, and that the seals which bind him can be destroyed. These seals are hidden in popular monuments, causing him to destroy the monuments.
He later becomes a good-guy.

Want to expound?

Sure, I'll  *Expand.
From our talks, we have the initial idea that....

Your character is a villain who lost his way after his best friend was killed.

Indeed he is, his best friend was brutally murdered by a group of "minions" yet to be named and an evil tyrant (also yet to be named, and hopefully profiled) who rules the eastern half of Canada, and many small towns in the U.S. and Mexico
What he does that's so villainous has yet to be decided.
He's an actor.

ahh, I've figured something for bad, kinda....  using his powers, he dresses up like the Casino owner, and steals the money, (completly away from the LA casinos)  steals pencils, odd enough, which actually power a machine created by his Professor that can break "the seal", which neither of them notices until part of "the seal" on Ethan's wrist fades away a little (Part one of "the seal"(I think it will be 9 parts) is a freebie)
He discovers that his friend is sealed in death, and that the seals which bind him can be destroyed. These seals are hidden in popular monuments, causing him to destroy the monuments.
He later becomes a good-guy.

I may elaborate more on this stuff, I WILL put which monuments are part of the seal, and there will be clues (like any treasure hunt) as to where they are.  The machine that destroys the seal can only work if Ethan has been there, destroyed it, and dropped a drop of a teammate's blood on it ( maybe a tear, I don't know)
So.... Yeah, I "Expound"  as Bobbay calls it

To expound means to elaborate, much like expand. Tongue I used the correct word!

Indeed he is, his best friend was brutally murdered by a group of "minions" yet to be named and an evil tyrant (also yet to be named, and hopefully profiled) who rules the eastern half of Canada, and many small towns in the U.S. and Mexico

Perhaps these minions and their "leader" could be part of an underground evil syndicate, since the nations of the world are ruled the same as they are now (Canada would still be a single unified nation, I gather).

For the monuments, definitely post them and see if they work with what Juan has in mind. I don't know if he wants to destroy things like the Eiffel Tower and Mount Rushmore. Haha. Perhaps they could be made up monuments of 2100, too.

I like the ideas about the seals and such, and their correlation with the seal on his wrist. We might want to figure out why he has the seal on his wrist as well.
