Snake’s Final Smash is the Grenade Launcher.


What is he calling in...?


Suddenly he does a great jump!


Choppa-choppa-choppa!

Snake grabs the rope ladder the helicopter drops and takes out his grenade launcher!

So, the thing to do is shoot, right?


Poom! Poom! Poom!

You control the targeting reticule and press the attack button to fire grenades one at a time. There are six rounds, and when you run out...


He loads a new clip? How can that be?

It ends when you shoot 12 rounds or run out of time. Snake then climbs back up to return to battle.


Yep. He makes his exit.

It’s probably better to just shoot all your rounds rather than run out of time leaving ammo behind...but if you just shoot indiscriminately, your shots may be dodged.

When there are two or more enemies, it might be a good idea to hit one as he is being attacked by the other, or something along those lines.



Now that I'm done formatting in Dojo style... huh.  Sakurai apparently doesn't grasp the concept of timing.  This would have been a wonderful update if it weren't coming on the tail of Olimar's announcement.  Personally, I'd have saved this as a drizzle for the next drought... but about the update itself.
It's a cool FS.  It'll be fun to blast people FPS style like Duck Hunt targets... and hopefully, it's fast enough to be suitably dangerous.  It'll keep foes on their feet while it's on as well.  They can't grab anyone because doing so leaves them vulnerable to some old school high explosives.
Interestingly, it seems to tinge the stage in a grim, military, serious-FPS green.  Which is really all the more funny when you consider he'll probably be using the rocket launcher to kill, among other things, small children (Lucas) and rodents (Pikachu).
EDIT: So... what happens if you point it at the Pokemon Trainer and pull the trigger?

little bit of a disappointment i recon. but then agen i dont kno jack about the MG series and im not too fussed. good update. got a FS outta the way.

Heh wow, can't say i was expecting a FS much less it being Snakes' FS. I personally like it a whole bunch and it's a nice change of pace as far as FSs' are concerned. I just wonder what's the time it takes for the round to make it from the gun to the stage, hopefully there isn't really bad down time in between. I was sort of expecting a giant Metal Gear to come crashing into the stage, then again they are his enemy so no worries. So what are the FSs' down to now? Zelda and Olimar?

The last thing I talked about on this site is snake's fs and now it's here. So they did save zelda as the last to have any character reveal for pcs revealed during the year 2007. If there's no reason for this, esp sheik, I'd be in rage. He's really saving the best for last.

I really like this final smash.  Hopefully there isnt too big of a lag time between firing and hitting.  Snake is taking up a big part of the left side of the screen so hopefully you can rotate the view slightly.  This FS will be awesome with the wiimote using the pointer. Smiley

I dont think we'll see the wiimote (unfortunately...) but...

THIS IS GREAT!!! Finally FPS junkies have a reason to play smash lol. This is the best FS, especially because they're supposed to be based on characters, and what works better for Snake then actually shooting a gun! YES!!! I LOVE YOU SAKURAI!!!!

ps Sheik update is coming, im sure of it...

The wii-mote idea would be really cool but i don't see it happening for the FS. I wonder if they will leave us with another big announcement before we have the weekend off? I'm getting pretty psyched up to see what they reveal soon and we can only assume that Olimar and Zeldas' FS will be appearing in the coming weeks.

I dont think we'll see the wiimote (unfortunately...)

actually i think we will but only for the wiimote + nunchuck combo setup. If you use the pointer for setting up the options and stuff i think u will be able to use it in game on things like the dragoon, snakes FS, and some other things.

I'm getting pretty psyched up to see what they reveal soon and we can only assume that Olimar and Zeldas' FS will be appearing in the coming weeks.

Always nice to see moves which are unique, instead of random meteors/angels/fireballs/waddle-doos raining down from everywhere. Nice one, team Smash!
