So how exactly did the Raptors "pollute" the human bloodline to get these non-humans? (at least that's what it sounds like they did to me)

Answer 1:  Well.... In Retrospect, they are the root of all the different races here in 2100.  They branch out to all of the humans and non-humans as depicted in 2100.  They were kind of "everything" back then.  In the present-tense, they "killed off" the humans.  The non-humans have risen from the shadows (and their myths), meaning all of the urban legends of spirits and such, and every single non-human (from Luigio and all over the world), came out of hiding to prevent the Raptors from taking their world.  In case you ask why they took this situation seriously, the Raptors were kind of their stale-mate, so even the head of the Alucard clan had trouble fighting off these "extraterrestrials".

Quote from: Bobby
And on an earlier note, you say the 7+1 Sins are the main 8 characters. How "central" are the 7 Virtues? Do they count all together as the main 15?

Answer 2:  Main 16*.  Yes, they all count together because of the significant role they all play.  Why they're the chosen 16 is far beyond spoiler material, and it would ruin the flow of the story if I told you now, but for those who want to ruin it anyway... it's funny how you suckers highlight this and actually come to believe that I would do something so inhumane and silly as revealing the story in a nut-shell here... Tsk-tsk, you sneaky bastards Tongue Wink

So we've established that this story starts in 2100. How much time elapses throughout the entire piece?

Answer:  There will be 9 books.  8 will feature one "Arch-Actor" and one "Arch-Angel", and the final book will feature the whole cast (16) with its main villain (hiding his face).  A year will pass in every three books, so 3-years-time will elapse throughout the entire series until the characters turn 3-years-older.  So far, I intend to restart writing 2100 around late-winter and early-spring.

The first 8 books won't be void of the non-featured Sins and Virtues, will they? They still get a decent amount of coverage, right?

It'll be cool to see all of the characters grow throughout the series.

Answer:  Not to worry!  The books don't determine their debut.  That would be silly Wink !  After all, Karoku and Kohaku live in the same place.  Introducing two (one from each side) one book at a time would be stupid!

Response:  And some will change little-by-little.  You can already tell by now that most of the characters will be 20 or older, save for a few...

Haha, yep!

1: Just how many pages do you think each of these books will have?
2: When do you think you'll finish the first book?
3: When do you expect to finish the series?

3: When do you expect to finish the series?

Answer 1:  Chapters are the more important matters as of this moment.
Answer 2:  Every book will have a cliff-hanger leading onto the next mystery that's laid out throughout the series.
Answer 3:  I expect to finish the series when everything else before is covered fully, leading onto the final fight and the epilogue, which will trace an extra year later.

Let me change my question then. How many chapters do you think each of these books will have?

Right, right. I'm thinking chronologically, though. Like...first book released in 2013? Series finished in 2017? Just estimates off the top of your head, of course.

Answer:  Highly depends on the plot-line running in each one.  I know for a fact not all 88 will be introduced in the first book.

Answer 2: Oh, well if you put it that way, I might get the first one published by 2017 then.  After all, I have college and such, and as I gain experience and knowledge, hopefully, I'll be able to get a job in a game company and such (aside from being an English Professor Tongue ).  Besides, the good thing is that I've got an early start on this...

...do you think we contributors could get a special preview to help tide us over? Grin

(3) Who are the "villains" in this story, and how would you describe them?

(4) With the inclusion of Olbap Nandofer and the Elven race, what type of elves are you featuring? Basically I'm wondering if it's faerie-type, tiny-type, or Tolkien-type. Tongue I ask mainly because a) I absolutely adore Tolkien's elvish race, and b) I'm finding the Farraen race to be a counterpart of sorts.

Answer 2:  As in.... free merchandise on behalf of 2100?  Then of course.  It's not a concern to me at all, and you will all see the spoilers eventually anyway (only the contributors are allowed to see it, meaning those who have worked hard on 2100 in general).

Quote from: Bobby
(3) Who are the "villains" in this story, and how would you describe them

Answer 3:  Currently, we have:

-The Archfiends
-The Drocons/Raptors
-Every one else

The main antagonists are the so-far mentioned Archfiends:

-Yanma:  The Archfiend of Gluttony and an insectiod whose goal is to devour powerful prey to become stronger (doesn't need to eat to sustain any part of himself).

-Daen:  The creator of the Archfiends and sort of the villain Yanma was based off of.  He created Yanma by accident after failing to overpower Karoku's soul during his childhood incident.  Daen is kind of the reason the Archfiends won't die no matter what, even if the main characters manage to beat them somehow.

-Kensaku/Shikome:  Shikome is the Archfiend of Sloth and she's a demon within a mirror that resides in "Lucifer's Garden" (Daen's haven).  Kensaku, as we know, holds the Black Mirror, and he's a Drocon/Raptor as well.  Shikome can only be fought within dreams or is otherwise nearly invincible due to the fact she's only existent as a reflection.  She aims to harness Kensaku's mirror to become fully invincible.  She currently antagonizes a cat-girl named Kinme.

-Kinyou:  The Archfiend of Lust, and a demon-vampire-succubus enraged with Karoku (and Kohaku, through a sort of jealousy and sadistic torment).  She wants to do a bunch of "things" to him, which of course includes killing (but subconsciously does it while she feels otherwise).  She also antagonizes Kohaku because she won't let her tell Karoku her feelings (being only one of their many obstacles that keeps their romance apart from each other).

-The other Archfiends:  All prevent their hosts from achieving a goal of some sort, and generally end up giving them a bad reputation.

-Fince Recleoura:  Violet's older brother who claims to be the messiah of the Drocons, and wishes to claim Earth on his own (Shikon's less-powerful replacement, and a sort of "first villain")

-Aiones/Saraphalis (new):  Aiones is a living computer-virus accidentally created by Dr. Claude, and an experiment stolen by Fince trying to utilize a battle-strategy against Earth's defenses (due to their lack of knowledge).  Cybernetic characters such as Madeleine and Shimiru (new) get infected by Aiones and turn "evil" for awhile, hence the "D.E.M.O.N." (DEath-Metal ONslaught) virus.  Saraphalis is actually two hyper-cells merged together (single-celled aliens the size of humans), that came from the Drocon's previous planet along with Matra.  Saraphalis is an angry life-form bent on getting revenge on the Drocons for destroying their planet.  Their goal is to find the perfect vessel to split into two cells (with half of Saraphalis' face replacing his heart), and destroying the quadrant by merging with a "Reactor".  Saraphalis is a Drocon villain (but not exactly a Drocon) as well, just to be clear.  His kind of hyper-cells can infect anything, and because of their primitive ancestors of "Safalligens" (human-sized viruses), the Drocons carry that unusual eye-infection that's been killing them off.  Saraphalis are true aliens.

-Sine Recleoura (new):  Fince and Violet's father, and the main antagonist of 2100.  He's part-Drocon and part-Raykaran, and has been living on Earth for as long as only he knows.  He's at the boundary between the evolution between Drocons and Raykarans (the opposite), making his kinds part Raykaran in a way... His goal is to bring upon the end of the world and taking the chosen 16 to start over.  He sees himself as the God of the universe, and is God in a way (but not the God from our life).  The reason he's evil despite caring for the main characters, is his harsh and cruel opinion on the others.  He gives everyone else the capital "L", and thinks they should die.  Ever feel like maybe just because God thinks you "suck" that you don't deserve to live makes you feel like crap?  Well hell, it makes me feel bad, which is why his actions leading to these prophecies, such as Daen and such, makes him the manipulator of all.

BUT.... There is a TRUE antagonist...

If you want details, pm me if you want to read Rodney's final hours...

Sweet! Free merchandise/scans, all the same to me.

What are these Archfiends you speak of? It sounds like they correspond with the Arch-Actors, with Yanma being the Archfiend of Gluttony and Karoku being the Arch-Actor of Gluttony.

Oh are you serious? Shocked

Okay, cool. Yeah, the elves Tolkien created became a base model for what seems to be all modern incarnations of elves. Games such as WoW follow the type.

And I don't want to "add" more elves. If you're fine with an original racial counterpart of sorts, then I won't try to steer it away from that if the current direction continues on as such. And even in that I don't want to rip-off anyone. Cheesy

Answer 1:  I might make more antagonists, and the true villain has more than one "incarnation".  As far as the Archfiends go, they're demons of the seven sins (plus the eight).  Karoku isn't really a glutton when it comes to the sin itself, nor is Senichi a jealous person when it comes to envy.  It all corresponds to what the Archfiends themselves have felt.  The fact that Karoku nearly starved himself in his childhood created an emotional drive that demanded food (and a lot of it), hence Yanma.

I might break and ask for it sometime soon. Tongue

No worries - they are! Anyone who thinks of an elf now thinks of the magical humanoid type. They also have their roots in ancient myth, so it's true in many levels. I'm just saying there were different types in ancient myth, and the humanoid type as a whole was popularized by Tolkien, until it became the beloved choice in all of modern fantasy, who in turn were very "Tolkien-esque".

(1) Is there much world travel in the story? If so, what kind of places are you thinking of going? And how?

(2) How would you classify "spiritual" positions such as Arch-Actor, Arch-Angel, and Archfiend? I think it'd be a nice bit of info to add to the rubrics.

(3) You mentioned instant dress-up technology near the beginning of the thread - how big is this machine/device, and how does it work? Is it portable or stationary?

(1) Is there much world travel in the story? If so, what kind of places are you thinking of going? And how?

Answer 1:  There will be world-travel all over through out the story.  Places like Luigio, Sweden, Russia, Brooklyn (to get a gander at how New York would look in the future), South America, and so on.  Even the previous Drocon world, and other places like Valmeera and Lucifer's Garden.

(2) How would you classify "spiritual" positions such as Arch-Actor, Arch-Angel, and Archfiend? I think it'd be a nice bit of info to add to the rubrics.

Answer 2:  If you mean like a field such as "-Spirituality:", then maybe.... I might add something along those lines, but that depends... I'll think about it...

Answer 3:  The machine is only accessible at homes, which means taking training bags and stuff may be required.  They're pods and only few own those.  Most people in 2100 don't mind wearing the same clothing, much less changing the "futuristic" way, and prefer it old-fashioned.
