There was already an entry detailing how we’ve brought back some of the stages from Super Smash Bros. Melee...

So here are some more stages that can also be played in Super Smash Bros. Brawl!

Yoshi's Island

The steep slopes on either side are its defining characteristic.

That central platform screams "accident!"

Corneria

Battle atop the Great Fox!

Of course, Arwings come flying in, too.

Onett

The offensive and defensive struggles on the buildings of Onett return!

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Watch out for cars.

Brinstar

It’s the dreaded, legendary ocean of acid!

The rising and falling ocean of acid changes the field of play greatly.

Rainbow Ride

Tour the course in this forced scrolling stage.

The boat sinks mid-trip and you embark on a roundabout tour!

This is amazing! Is this a lavish feast or what? I can tell you that for everyone working on this game, the amount of content has been surprising to say the least.

This update is good, but not great (so much for the big update we were all hoping for).

I really dont think were going to see any new characters on the Dojo. I was maybe hoping for Sheik as an update, but I think they would've used that in their ads if they could've, and the ads are out. I think Skeik is going to be an unlockable character, but that strays from this threads point...

What is really great about this post is his comment at the end. He mentions that there is alot of content in this game, and im looking forward to seeing and playing it all!

Really not a bad update imo. Though i will admit that i'm a little surprised that they brought back some of the levels that they did. First off the Brinstar stage seems like it strays far too close to the new Metroid stage that they have, i mean, more rising and falling lava/acid? I also was never persoanlly a fan of Rainbow Ride and always kind of thought the stage was a little bland for some reason. I really like the Corneria stage though, one of my Melee favorites. I kind of wish they would have brought back the DK stage (name alludes me atm) where it has 3 platforms and rushing water underneath taking place at sunset. Though I guess in defense of these levels it's easy enough to say they are bringing some of the old stages back that will give some nice content to the game (except that damn Brinstar stage grrr lol).

What a way to start the week.....  This update is isn't so bad.  It could've been another tourtial on how to navigate the menu Haha!

This is my first update post so I tried to make it look as good as possible.  But this one was really hard for me.....oh well.  I think it's not too bad for my first try.  I'll fix some spacing problems in a sec.  Well, here's the update.  Don't be too dissapointed. Smiley

EDIT: Hey! Isn't the writer of the post supposed to post a quick comment about there post when it's an update? you guys beat me! lol oh well...
EDIT 2: Spacing Modified!

IMO It is ok. I was thinking on the Rainbow Ride, How would Pokemon Trainer work? Would he also continually move in the background. You see a little bit of him on Brinstar.

here are my opinions on each stage:

yoshi's isle-good but i hate the hole in the middle

corneria- excellent!!

onett: it was quite fun but there are slightly better stages

Brinstar: I'M SICK OF LAVA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

rainbow ride: the ride itself is too short and repetitive

overall, a great update though

I really consider this update a good one in terms of the fact that I expected less. If it were one stage, I'd get mad but at least it was a bunch of stages. Dan, great work on the update. I wanted to do it though...haha. Yoshi's Island is a stage I hoped wouldn't come back. I get so many accidentals in the middle that I stopped counting. It's a fun gimmick stage though but I just wish the pipes would have been useable. Corneria is what I think is the best of all the stages mentioned. I always found the Great Fox and the Temple the best stages to fight on as it gave you more ground and air to attack. It really helped contribute to good long battles. Onett is another one I wish wasn't back. It's just too many platforms and distractions. Not really a healthy place. Honestly, I like the Brinstar stage even if the lava IS overkill. The battle usually remains mostly aerial and that's what I like. The lava isn't a bad thing too, it could save you sometimes. And as for Rainbow Ride...we now have two Mario stages that are side-scrolling. Sure we have Mario Kart but they should have added Princess Peach's Castle. I hate rainbow ride even if that was my favorite world in Super Mario 64. It would have been better if they modified the stage to be more like the one in SM64, especially when you could go into the castle in the sky. That was classic. And yeah...they should have put a wall jump place too. Wall jump would be pretty fun to use.

not more lava...i guess its good just so we arent wandering around wondering what other Melle stages would return...but Sakurai could have done better.

Good update! I really wish they would have scrapped Rainbow Ride. I think I only used that level once when playing melee. And thank god they brought back foxes level it's a classic.

It figures that today's update wouldn't be special. Oh well at least it revealed more of the classic stages.
