"The new Mario game is planned for the latter half of the year."
Either Nintendo has been developing this new mario game for years and are almost done or they are just lazy and are going to release a mediocre mario game.
I hope it's a sequel to mario 64.

I hope they don't have to release a new Balance Board. It sure would make waste of the one I currently have. I do hope though that the stricter measurement would really be via software level.
As for Mario... ANOTHER MARIO GAME AND STILL NO MENTION FOR ZELDA FOR THE Wii ONLY? What's going on?

there would be no benefit to a more precise measurement . the current board is already much more precise than there is practical use for .

I love Zelda, but if they only announce new Mario and Zelda games I'd be kind of disappointed I'm okay with one or the other but I would really like to see a game in a franchise that doesn't get as much attention.

In what way tots? I love Zelda, but if they only announce new Mario and Zelda games.
I'm already disappointed. Twilight Princess was made to be a GCN game; port to Wii...but there has been no Zelda game for the Wii itself, but then you have a 2nd Mario game for the Wii. It just isn't fair...

That's very true about Zelda, but I think what people fail to realize is that Nintendo has other franchises besides Mario, Zelda, and Metroid. If they show off a new Pikmin I'd be stoked...just because it would be Nintendo taking advantage of their large cast of characters. Same with a new Kid Icarus, StarFox, etc. I mean, PunchOut!! just came out for Wii and it's probably one of the most refreshing titles I've played in a while simply because it's Nintendo stretching some of its other properties.
This isn't to say I don't want a new Zelda...of course I do...Zelda's one of my favorite franchises. However, I almost think throwing a new Zelda out every time the hardcore gets antsy has become kind of a cop out. I'd love to see them surprise us with something new or the return of something long forgotten.

I wouldn't have minded a new Zelda, and would have preferred Star Fox or F-Zero games (both with online multiplayer modes).
But yeah, Mario, again, kinda sucks.

Actually,
If rumors are to be believed (and I think a short development time compared to the last one kind of supports this...) it MAY be a new Super Mario Bros. game. So it's still Mario, but in a form we haven't seen for a while (minus New Super Mario Bros., which is still one of my favorite games)

EVERY GAME FRANCHISE MUST HAVE THE EXACT SAME NUMBER OF GAMES its not always better to make more games . look what happened to megaman . all the new megaman games are some weird yugio card game kind of bullshit . how would you like it if the next zelda game is some kind of world war II rts ?

But Miyamoto had announced the Mario Galaxy team was working on a new Mario game last E3. This is probably it.

Yeah, but they could be working on a new 2D Mario...which would still be amazing.

Haha! This made me laugh pretty hard. I am quite excited about this new Mario game coming out. I think the multiplayer makes it even better. I wonder if there's characters you can use besides Mario, Toad, and Luigi, though. (Peach???)
