When flicking through youtube vids I happened to come across this one which (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=YsiSLX2UEVc) gives a walkthrough of how to put your own music in the background of brawl. It's surprisingly easy to do and gives much more freedom in terms of soundtrack. On top of that it works with any game in which you can ajust the music/sound effect volume. If you get stuck for choices of music to put in here are a few of my recommendations:

Ganondorf Sword Battle (LoZ:TP) - Bridge of Eldin
Normal Battle (Pkmn Colosseum) - Pokemon Stadium
Melty Molten Galaxy (SMG) - Norfair
Champion of Destruction (Super Paper Mario) - Halberd
Ghostbusters - Luigi's Mansion
etc...

It's bit of a simple fix. I thought it was going to be some kind of hack.

I had the same thought when I saw it. It works well enough though, if you don't mind a lack of victory music or a bit of setting up

May as well just put your iPod on or jack it into your stereo instead.

I guess it's just a matter of preference. I like it best when the music is actually coming out of the tv, but others wouldn't notice a difference.

I have to agree, I did think it would be some hack but it's simply using your television as your stereo. What is nice that I forgot about is that you could turn off the music component of brawls and just use sound effects so that your music and brawl's effects would mesh. Honestly, even if you don't have the items needed to do this, putting your own music is much better as music could dictate how you play. (Weird how Tots, Bobby and I talked about it yesterday.)
