On Sunday, we start the Best Game Ever polls. We will be using the GameFAQS nominees. I need volunteers to help me. I will post the first poll. These polls will be every day, and will be posted at 12 noon SP time. GameFAQs has already started them, so we're a little late but oh well. All polls willl be posted in Predictions Board.

Can you start on Monday and not do week-ends so that I could vote? I'm sure others would appritiate that too. (as most people know, I'm not a Sunday visitor, so I'd prefer other days)

If 2 more people want it on weekdays only, I'll make them weekdays only

I could do most Tuesdays, and try to fill in for other posters.
Here's an idea - since we're not nominating the games ourselves, perhaps we could have a look at the existing nominations and substitute some of GameFAQ's with some of our own? I remember there being talk in the chatroom of how some of our gamers' favorite games were not in the list.
Edit: Weekdays-only sounds good to me as well.

Well, I could always set up a poll with all the nominations, and ask which games everyone likes the least. We could then submit our own in place of them. This method could be done two ways. It looks like GameFAQs is including games based on year grouping, so we could try and replace some games in the same manner, or we could just replace regardless of year.

I like Bobert's idea. First we'll vote out the nominees we don't like, then we'll start on April 27.

Sounds like a plan then. A couple of questions first, however. Are we going to replace nominations according to release dates, or not? After thinking about it a bit, I've come to think we should nominate with years in mind, so as to follow the nomination method GameFAQs used, and be fair to the other nominations (theirs). There are 128 games in the event, which would require a very large poll, which might be easy to get lost in. Should we somehow divide it up?

We divide it by first getting rid of the nominations we don't like, and then we nominate games from the same time period to replace them

Okay. So go ahead and post the poll with all 128 games?
Is there any particular number of votes you want voters to be limited to?

12 votes max. I think 10% of the games to vote off is good enough, unless you want to make it 18(15%) or 24(20%)

I would prefer that we made it that SP users could vote for the 20% they don't like but only 15% of the whole collective body's wants for replacements would be replaced. This is so that we have a bigger grasp of which ones to be replaced. But any percentage like the top would suffice.
Also, it will be important that we take in mind the years. If we forget them, we may be removing too much from a period and not finding any good replacements.
