We're all Earth-haters here, apparently.
So I'm surprised--you'd think we'd all join in and hatefully surprise each other by having fire-only items set on high, with our characters being only humans. In a city stage, of course.
I kid, I kid.
I'm a nature lover, and a Brawl lover (also a city lover, mind you). I'll join up once I know if I can for certain.

The list of available characters is as follows (I think, feel free to correct):

I went ahead and excluded characters with fiery explosions, such as Samus and Snake with their exploding missiles, and Sheik with her exploding teleportation move.

The tip of her Plasma Whip explodes with flames upon contact, so she's not allowed. Characters who get hit by the tip of the Plasma Whip also burn for a short time. |

Should we go with this or just go with no fire? Removing "people" would cause Peach, Wario, Ganondorf, Pit, Ice Climbers, and Marth to be removed from the already small list. The creator of this tournament isn't around to discuss the matter, nor is he likely going to be here for the event. The rules are ours to fashion. Personally, I don't hold "people" to be enemies of Earth, so I don't mind at all if they're included. |

11 characters isn't bad IMO. Well, it is his tourney so I guess it better to be in respect to his rules, even if he doesn't play it. In ancient understandings, Man is the balance of all the elements: Air, Fire, Water and Earth. Therefore, man should be included, but it's not up to us. |

A nice note about Man.
I don't find it dishonoring or unreasonable to modify the rules a bit. The theme and principles would still stand. Modifications are almost always part of the tourney process.
I'm either way on this--the characters I want to play as will be playable regardless of what we do here. In the meantime, the list above is now conformed to the current rules.
