i don't know if these commercials can be assumed to be accurate protrayals of the game's capabilities , but if you look at the last link in the initial post (the compilation of 5 commercials) , you will see something interesting in the second commercial .
it shows what appears to be two families playing against eachother in a 4 player online game . this is the first evidence that i've seen to show that 2 players on a single machine can play online in a single game .

That's actually a very very interesting find there Rocky. If something like that is true then it shows a great expanded potential for group battles online on one machine, if Halo can do it so can Wii!

What an undignified way for Mario to be introduced - slipping on a banana peel. Is it just me or does anyone else expect to find a dual-audio track setting in Smash Bros Brawl. Listening to the Japanese voices may have its pros over their English counterparts. The most prominent example is the Pokemon Trainer. Just a thought.

Well ya have to understand that marketing and how it's presented will always be different in other countries. Japan is no exception to this and thier marketing and promotions have to be one that will be pleasant and attractive to how the culture is. Japan is a very whacky and many times considered over the top in enthusiasm when certain topics are being addressed i.e. gameshows and videogames. So i can pretty much guarantee you that those commercials wont be used in the U.S. in fact i say be prepared for the infamous "Wii would like to play" TV spots.

Just a thought. i think it's still pretty uncommon for nintendo games to ship with dual language audio . it's no longer because of a limitation in storage capacity . now they do it just do discourage international post-retail sales . if the game comes with a japanese audio option , i would totally use that . i can't stand english voice-overs . they make me want to stick my finger through my eye socket , into my brain and swirl it around .
