Can anyone else on here confirm if TF2 is really as badass as many say it is? I kind of want to get the Orange Box for HL2 EP2 and Portal but i heard TF2 was awsome.
Half-Life 2 has some of the best enviroment, controls, presentation and story telling of any game ever. Although I haven't got to the sequels I hear they are just as incredible. Portal is the most unique puzzlers of the decade and will inspire gamers and (hopefully) developers to think in new ways. That alone should justify an Orange Box purchase.
But to answer your question, yes Team Fortress 2 is incredible. It offers such a plethora of unique ways and styles to complete the same tasks that I was blown away. I had no idea it was possible to offer such versatility in a multiplayer game, but the different skills being balanced so well is awesome. Trust me, you will pick a few favorite classes and just try to master them. I accidentally played it all night a couple of days ago. I said "one more game" too many times and eventually I looked outside and it was sunny. Checked the clock, it was 7:15. All in all yes, TF2 is AMAZING, but each game seperately could contend for game of the year. Just get this and lock yourself in your room until smash comes out. (One gripe, vehicle sections which are exceedingly long in the Half-Life games don't work well on consoles.)
