Aww, I wanted to post about it! Oh well.

Well it seems Project Needlemouse has officially confirmed to be Sonic the Hedgehog 4. This makes me incredibly happy, because the 2D games were my favorite .

What's interesting though, is that Sonic 4 is going "episodic", like Tales of Monkey Island and Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People. My guess is that it will be 5 episodes, that way it will be the price of a regular retail Wii game.

I just found out about this too. I'm a little disappointed at the fact that this game is going to be "episodic". It absolutely ruins it for me if I have to pay more just for each episode. Why can't they wrap it all into a nice bundle and save the hassle?

The game is for Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and WiiWare. Rocky said this wouldn't be on Wii, but it is!

Oh, and I'm pretty sure that this game won't be more than 5 episodes, so all togetheer it will be $50. Which is the same price of a regular Wii game. My guess is that they're making it episodic so they can see how much it will sell.

I'm split about this.
I glad that they're going back to classic style.
But splitting it into episodes is an iffy concept.
Yes, it will probably amount to a regular game price, but I hate the wait for a new episode.

Why would someone think that a Sonic game wouldn't come out on the Wii? SEGA already made that mistake with '06...then again that should have never existed.

Also I've kinda grown attached to the new generation.  Too bad Sonic is the only playable character.  Then again, that's a good thing if they're going back to roots.

Ya know, they could go ever further and remake the Adventure games in the traditional style.  I'm not sure about the first SA but maybe it should have Gamma and Big cut completely, take away the modern setting, and possibly make Tails, Knuckles, and maybe Amy playable.  But SA2 should only have Sonic & Shadow playable.  The modern setting aspect should be trashed (wtf is up with GUN?), but for both the basic storyline could be preserved.  Altered quite a bit, but still preserved.

Also, why does no one like Unleashed?  Yes, Werehog sucks, but otherwise SEGA did a decent job on the gameplay.

Agreed. If it doesn't cost too much I might get this.

One thing that has always bothered me in the Sonic games I've played (nearly all but the new generation ones) is how spacious the levels are. I'm used to upturning everything I find, but Sonic's levels are just too big and complex.

hmmm...maybe if your able to go that fast for the whole game I might consider it.

but if it's anything like my past Sonic experiences where you don't want to go that fast at all, I'll just pass.
