I noticed an ad on SP one day for WhatTheyPlay.com about a new Wii, so I searched it on Google and found these. I'm not sure if its real though.

Well, the Wii was released 5 years after the Gamecube, Gamecube 5 years after the N64, and the N64 five years after the SNES (I think). 2011 will be 5 years after the Wii was released, so that make sense in a way. I'm still a little unsure though. I hope they call it the Uus  Tongue

BTW the second link doesn't work for me.

They are making it sound like they want to take the current games and just make them high definition, which doesn't work that way. In order to do that you would have to re make the games to support high definition resolutions of 720p and 1080i/p. Progressive scan however is still pretty awesome. The next Nintendo console will need to be high definition however.

Doesn't really matter if they don't add HD to the Wii, maybe it'll come out on Wii 2?

But Brawl, Corruption, Mario Kart, and others have been upscaled to 720p, on emulators, and it looks great

press the HD button.

although, you won't probably see a difference if you have a lame monitor

You know they're working on SOMETHING deep in Nintendo R&D's secret volcano lair.  From what Iwata's said, they are considering the jump to HD a rather small upgrade.  They'd rather have some really compelling new control mechanic or other piece of new technology then add HD because they can.
