Among the many trophies are some representing the enemies that appear in The Subspace Emissary.

Like this.

But they cannot be gotten easily.

You must turn the enemies directly into trophies to get them! The item that is needed to do this is a trophy stand.

Basically, it's the stand the trophy rests on.

When an enemy appears, you need to significantly weaken it.

Pay attention to the damage meter at the top-left corner of the screen.

If you're lucky enough to have a trophy stand, throw it at your enemy after you've weakened it!

If it goes well...

It will hit with a thud!

And it becomes a trophy!

Now you get the trophy. Whoa! What's happened?! You could say this is only possible because of the setting of the Smash world.

You can then view that trophy in your trophy gallery!

Perhaps the trophy descriptions will give you some insight into the backstory of The Subspace Emissary...

Of course, you can also do this to get boss trophies.

Yes! I'm definitely gonna get you today!

Since you can't get these trophies if you don't have a trophy stand, pure skill is not enough -- it requires a little luck, too.

I'll make it so you'll somehow be allowed to fight the bosses even after you've already cleared the game, so it's OK if you don't hunt all these trophies down in the first battle.

Now that I'm done fiddling with the formatting:
THANK YOU, MASAHIRO SAKURAI!  We have had weeks with less information then this single update!
What're you squig-'eads starin' at?  This 'ere update ain't no Knuckles, but it sure as hell contains a lot of info for us to go over with a fine-tooth comb!

OK, I'll start the combing for data.

Shadow Bugs - Any resemblence to the Heartless is clearly in appearance.  Each individual Primid (and other Subspace soldier) is apparently a collection of individual creatures, like the Hunters from Halo or the Replicators from Stargate.

Primid Smash Attacks - Apparently, they'll be more vicious then the Goombas and related beasties from Melee's Adventure mode.  The health bar for the Towtow confrims that as well... but more on that later.

Rayquaza - He's in as a boss.  Good as a confirmation.

Health Bars for critters - Adventure game?  This is looking more like an old-school beat-em-up.  Which is a good thing, IMHO.

Bar on the Left - Lives remaining.  I'm sure of it.

The trophy for the Big Primid has my attention the most.  Apparently, the Primids will at least approach actual Smash characters in combat ability; this gentleman seems to be an approximate equivelant to a brutal wireframe.  Perhaps it is time to resurrect my "playable Subspace character" theory?

I really hope that Trophy Stand item ain't only available in SE. It would make an awesome multi-player item.

I really liked this update.  It told us about a completely new element, which should add a decent amount of replay value to the SSE.

The context clues were useful too.  Sakurai said he wanted Adventure Mode to be more of a true walk 'n sock/platform game and it lookslike he's got it heading in that direction.

This is only built on luck though, so it may not be all that useful

This sounds like it'll be a lot more convinient in 2 player mode.  You can have one player carry the stand while the other one fights.

Not to nitpick too much, but I'd say confirms is a better word, as we were already pretty confident.
