I was thinking lately... You know how members sometimes forget to put they're busy, away, or brb?  Well, Skype has something where you refrain from touching your computer and it automatically sets the busy mood.

Do you guys think we should have an automatic feature such as this, so that people who are away will have us know that they're busy when they forget to do so?  I think it's helpful, but then again, inaccurate.

Imo, I think it could work like this:

BRB = set after 5 minutes
Away = set in 30-40 minutes
Busy = set after those time periods

I'm not too sure myself.  Again, it sounds lazy, but I think it's helpful.  What do you guys think?

I think it would be helpful. There have been numerous occasions where I've tried starting a quick conversation with people upon my entry, only to find myself waiting for a reply longer than I really have time for-- and often to no avail.
However, I'm not so sure Rocky can add features to FlashChat. I seem to recall him saying he couldn't when adding emoticons was a hot topic.

Hmm, I like the idea. However, 10 minutes might be a bit to short. There have been times I've spoken with Juan regarding serious manga crossover matters (often resulting in a lot of copy and save materiel in the end), and he randomly leaves for 15 or so minutes, longer than he expects to. I sometimes do the same thing.

But then again, I suppose all this could be avoided by copy and saving ahead of time-- if people remember to do so, which is a lot like the "predicament" regarding the "BRB's", "Away's", and "Busy's" above.

Hmm, and just out of curiosity, just how much can you modify FlashChat? Knowing this might simplify a lot in the future.

Haha, oh boy...yeah...I can now see that post having a sarcastic tone.
Well, there have been times Amanda has remained logged into SmashChat overnight, so having a feature like that (perhaps set so that a person gets kicked out after an hour of not saying anything, or something like that) might be nice.

Whatever reduces lag and laziness and whatever promotes attentiveness works for me, but funny nonetheless Cheesy

I think that is a terrible Idea. It pisses me off when I go do some work, come back, and Im not in chat anymore. If you forget to log out it's your own fault, if you don't set yourself as away, it's not chat's job.

Who's to say you'll actually BRB if you've only been gone 5 min?

I have to agree. There are certain times when you just need to go but don't want to leave the chatroom but forget to put up a message. If it were really possible, there should be automatic notices so that you'd know to talk or not talk to a person. But if it isn't possible then I wouldn't ask for it.

Good Idea. But I would have to say the most important thing to be added to the chat right now is having the chat work with Wii. Anyways, I think that if you don't talk for over an hour you should be kicked out of the chat, just incase you forgot to click out or something weird like that.

The only time I see it as nice is if you're given the option to set kick out mode so if you do forget to click out or something like that, you already had a set kick-off time. And one hour is still too short, I say 3 hours...
