You know it. I know it. Apparently
he doesn't know it. So here's what it should have been, starting with the one thing he got right:
CAPTAIN N
If you were to take a long shot from the back of a dark horse, you would then be barely able to reach the odds of Captain N actually making it into the game. While not an actual video game character, Kevin represented a plethora of the NES games in their first cartoon debut in Captain N and the Game Masters. Unfortunately, the show was never big in Japan, and it's likely that Sakurai is not even aware of this old school video game junkie. Weilding a Zapper and an old school controller, Captain N fought the evil Mother Brain. His moves come out pretty easily, using the zapper to blast enemies and his control pad to dart around the field. His Final Smash could be to use his signature "Pause!" move to freeze time, allowing him to wail on his enemies with no opposition.
Colbert
Few can deny that Steven Colbert deserves to be in this game. I'm sure if you'd ask him, he'd agree that it would be a crime not to let him be in it. Some might argue that he's never actually been in a video game, but I think he's in the video game of our hearts. Also, he is America, so how could you leave him out? With his stretching attacks and armor of truthiness, he'd be a formidable opponent, and for his Final Smash... the Word!
Bub
Now, I have to ask you. Who
wouldn't want to play as a green, bubble spitting dinosaur? Bub's bubbles could easily lend themselves to some very interesting special moves. A possible Final Smash would be to chow down on candy giving him a boost in speed and bubble powers, or possibly summoning the dreaded Baron von Blubba!
Dalek
I haven't ever watched Doctor Who, so I can't really elaborate on the Dalek's abilities, but Dalek for Brawl anyway!
Hulk provided me with this, so:
The Subspace army is one thing, but when your talking systematic destruction from the stars, one force comes to mind. The Daleks. Wielding deadly ray guns and other tools of destruction, the Dalek's want nothing less than total EX-TER-MIN-ATE-ion of everything not-Dalek. An engine of this much destruction, fueled by raw hatred, can surely find his place in the Smash universe.
Harry Potter
Now, Harry Potter has been in video games, giving him a distinct advantage over most people on this list. Using his wand for spells like Flippendo and his broomstick as his up and B recovery move, he's got a lot of range. His Final Smash could be summoning his stag patronus, who would fight alongside him for a while.
Basil
This is not up to debate. The Big Ben is clearly visible in the clouds and this obviously means that Basil, the Great Mouse Detective is in Brawl. Special moves will include a sonic attack via his violin, and using his magnifying glass to fry his opponents like ants.
Christopher Walken
You'll have to fight with your friends over who gets to play this character first. I mean, he's everyone's "Weapon of Choice". His amazing dance moves make this character fast and powerful. Also, he can fly, so obviously he'd have the gliding ability.
