There's more ness in everywhere: loch ness, softness, darkness, sheerness since its a frequently used suffix. Heck, even the name Ness does have a definition: cape.

Lucas is very similar to Ness so I don't blame them for celebrating the newer entry into the series. Even if they had both Lucas would simply be a clone of Ness so it's more fun to see new stuff. Plus, Lucas's inclusion may prompt an international release of Mother 3 like how Marth and Roy being in Melee brought Fire Emblem to the attention of the world outside Japan.

I don't think ness will come back, because lucas would have been in melee but it was too far in development.  |

I think we've been over this, but yes, Christmas is very big in Japan, but as a purely secular holiday. They've even built their own Japanese style myths around it, the biggest one being that if you confess your love on Christmas Eve, you will have a happy life together. |
