This may sound a bit extreme, but I look forward to having a "Metal Suit" match in Frigate Orpheon. The thought of having to time one's jump just as the stage "flips over" is the sort of handicap that makes SSBB appealing to me.
Also, attempting to scramble for safety during a match in Norfair (lava waves) looks enticing. There's plenty of opportunity for madness to ensue.
Finally, the sheer randomness of PictoChat and the Wario Ware stage will ensure hours of playtime for someone who enjoys a touch of chaos.
Sometimes, when two pros go up against each other, Lady Luck can be the deciding factor. I know that first-hand.
With Gimmick stages, even seasoned pros would have to deal with luck. What if you just got the smashball then an Ultimate Chimera popped out. That would be sad.

That's very true dcmjlive.
The Ultimate Chimera reminds me of the occasional Klap Trap that an unlucky player would sometimes encounter in the Donkey Kong stages in Melee. Perhaps the UC is potentially more dangerous since it appears on land, where most of the fighting is taking place.
Nonetheless, the frantic action and interactivity provided by each stage is what makes the Smash series unique. I suppose pitting Nintendo's greatest heroes/mascots against one another is a factor that drew me in as well.

Speaking of Klap Traps...I always hated that thing. I could easily have returned to the platform many times but because of the Klap Traps, I die...grr.

I really think the distactions take more skill. It makes the stage more exciting and fun. Though, up-scrolling is something I could live without. I hope DK's stage goes slower then Ice Mountain did. Though with the addition of ladder climbing, I would think it would have. Climbing a ladder is slower then jumping. Anyway,.....I lost my train of thought. Lets hope for a side scrolling sonic stage.

even then thats the cheapest way to kill sum1. id far rather kill with my own sword so they have no excuse. but it's so much more satisfying to win with a little help from the environment . then you get to laugh at your opponent as they whine about the game being unfair or how you got lucky . nothing drives people crazy like surprise bob-omb death from above .

Yeah...those bob-ombs sure are annoying. That's why I usually remove that from the item list.

I keep the bob-ombs even though they always kill me unfairly . I take off the life-ups though, so unfair, they are worse than steroids!

Yeah...as much as food doesn't heal much...it's actually fun to just go for the food and eat them all!

Yeah , for some odd reason I still get really angry when someone gets all the food first! I end up wanting to kill them harder than normal.
