I remember that I said way back when that there should be a password for the erase data options in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart Wii for the simple fact that your save file cannot be backed up on an SD card. It sucks, I don't get it. There can be certain ways that you might accidentally trip over that and having a password would have been better to have.
What are your thoughts about the Erase All Data option? Do you know any way you can copy your SSBB and MKW save files to your SD card?

The easiest way I could think of is that you accidentally put your button on erase data instead of an adjacent option and you were too distracted to notice. Then you just kept pressing A until you realize that you have just erased the file. Or you got too nervous from that point and moved the control stick too much that you clicked yes on the erase. I could think up more scenarios where you can become clumsy and erase data. It's improbable but very possible. Besides, that's not what I'm asking... I'm asking what you guys think about having the erase data option there and if there is any way to back up your files.

there's no way to back up the game saves .
also , i think that it's good that there is an option to erase your data . otherwise , you wouldn't be able to erase your data .

yeah . there's your solution , DJ . it's read-only memory , so you can never erase it , even if you want to . it sounds perfect for someone who is worried about accidentally stepping through all the confirmation dialogs and erasing their data .

Yeah, the only thing I guess would be erased is your progress in SSE and your own records with your name... I guess that's the sad part about it.

You need to be really stupid to erase all your data accidentally.

Woah, LOL. I knew it was extremely possible even if you're not stupid. You just need to be distracted... Anyway, Brawl really should be a back-up-able file. I was surprised that when Rocky sent his Wii to Nintendo, I remember that all his files got erased. Had it been possible to back-up, Rocky wouldn't have lost his almost complete progress.

Oh, I get what you mean. It is harder to delete all data than a certain aspect due to the fact that it's on the bottom of the options. But uh, it's still very possible when you're distracted.

I have to agree with you. Having control over your data is a great idea. IT should be an ammendment.
