Speed or Acceleration?

The Dolphin Dasher is pretty good all round - I swear it runs better in water than on dry land (Koopa Cape/Peach Beach).

Probably because it's a dolphin. But yeah, it is weird. Whenever I do Koopa Cape or Peach Beach, I take the water routes and it doesn't seem to slow down the dolphin dasher. It can even withstand the water in DS Yoshi Falls. That bike is amazing. It's my favorite. The second is the jet bubble (bubble bike) but it's offroad isn't as near to the dolphin dasher. My third has to be the flame runner (bowser bike). I'm trying to learn the faster ones like the sneakster (nitrocycle) and the spear (torpedo) but they have weak overall stats. I used to use acceleration junkies like the sugarscoot (bon bon) and the wario bike but they're slow in comparison.

I made the mistake of putting this "Dophindasher drives great on water" theory to the test on Shy Guy Beach, online. It cost me dearly. I haven't driven any waters elsewhere with it yet, but so far the theory isn't holding any water for me.

Too bad it doesn't work with you. But yeah, the mach bike really is a speed bike. What I hate though is the amount of time you lose getting bumped. You've countered that technicality with looking back but you sometimes can't anticipate the attacks of others that much.

Speaking of the dolphin dasher...it's not really faster on water. But doing water shortcuts actually make it more likely to win. Just don't overdo it.
