Surprised one hasn't been put up. =/

This thread is mainly discuss how to use adv techniques, what they are, and provide a list of all current techniques.

LIST:

B-Sticking:
B-Sticking requires that the player be using the GameCube Controller (or classic controller) with a custom name. The player must then go in to the Options -> Control Settings and change the controls for the controller for their name. The primary change that needs to be made is that the C-stick must be changed so that instead of performing Smashes, it executes Specials. This also gives B-Sticking its name, since the player is using the C-stick to perform B moves.

Barrel Jump:
Diddy ONLY. To do a barrel jump, the player must first be knocked off the stage. Then right as they prepare to perform the midair jump, the player executes the Up B at the same time as the jump. The effect should be that instead of slightly moving downward with the Up B, the player glides upwards, and then performs the Up B.

Dash Shine:
To start off, you must first have mastered the Jump shine and Foxtrot. To do a Dash shine you first start with a foxtrot. Out of foxtrot you must jump cancel your dash and immediately shine. If jump shined correctly you will instantly be able to dash again to start the whole attack over. Repeat if desired!

Drop Counter:
To do it, you must be at the edge of a platform (not hanging, but standing right at the edge). When your opponent attacks with a short-ranged attack, shield against it; if the knockback is strong enough, you might slide off the edge of the platform, canceling your shield and allowing you to retaliate instantly with an aerial attack.

Grand Viper:
    * Use Quick Draw, making sure not to hit the opponent
    * Immediately afterwards, follow up with the move of your choice, typically up-tilt
    * Ike should have dashed a fair distance (depending on how long you hold Quick Draw) and used an attack instantly.
Ike ONLY.

Knee Lock:
SNAKE ONLY. To perform the Knee Lock, Snake must connect with the first hit of his Forward Tilt. Then, no attack button should be pressed until the window for the second hit has passed. After it has passed, a second Forward Tilt must be performed. This can be done several times in succession.

Magnet Pull:
Lucas ONLY. A Magnet Pull is basically a longer version of Lucas' Wavelanding technique. To perform the technique, Double jump to a Wavebounced PK Fire and immediately use PSI Magnet. You will shoot across the stage at a great distance (possibly the best wavelanding in the game). Magnet Pull can be used to approach a far enemy and make great horizontal and vertical recovery.

Quickdraw:
Link/T. Link ONLY. Quickdraw or QDing is when Link or Toon Link shoot an arrow as they are starting their landing animation. This will cause the arrow to be shot very quickly with no landing lag.

Reverse Aerial Rush:
To perform a RAR this way, the player taps the Control Stick in the opposite direction while starting the jump out of the run. Pressing the standard attack button makes the character perform a back aerial while continuing to move in the same direction of the dash.

Slide Smash:
To do this, dash and do a Smash Attack, usually an Up Smash. You will slide while charging as your character loses their momentum.

Snakedash:
    * Use Snake's dash attack.
    * Immediately afterwards, cancel it with an UpSmash. This is fairly difficult to do in real time.
    * Snake should have slid a large distance (about one-third the size of Brawl's Final Destination) and used UpSmash. SNAKE ONLY

Wave Zap:
Lucas Only. To perform the technique, simply Zap Jump use PSI Magnet and PK Thunder twice. Wave Zapping is known to be one of the best recoveries in the game. If used on Final Destination, the technique will propel you halfway across the stage.

Waveland:
Wavelanding is performed after a character jumps to his/her peak and descends. As the character is approaching the ground the player presses L or R, initiating an air dodge. The ground then stops the air dodge animation and begins a normal wavedash.

Zap Jump:
Lucas ONLY: To execute this move, you must double jump while using PK Fire. The timing takes a bit of practice, but you basically hit the jump right before you use PK Fire and Lucas will shoot up quite a ways. This can be combined with B-Sticking and Magnet Pull for impressive recovery.

Infinite Shine:
Fox ONLY. To execute this move, you must be next to any wall, and your opponent must be in between the wall and Fox. Fox must use his down B attack or “Shine”. Causes the foe to be trapped in the shine and cannot escape. Repeat as desired.

Yeah, we really need a thread like this to help us grow more into more advanced characters.

Hmm.... I reccomend Smashboards.  We're not really that advanced of players...  I mean we've got a lot of really good people, but as far as I know no one here plans on going pro.

Eris knows, I could use all the help I can get.   Grin
Of course, a good place to start for people even greener tha nme is the Dojo's techniques index but other, *ahem* controversial techniques are bound to be discovered by you Disciples of Agares as time goes on.  Chain grabbing comes to mind... anyways, feel free, o' gods of Smashing, to enlighten us mere mortals.
EDIT: I'd actually forgotten a couple of these, especially the bits under quick techniques.

Well, I know from experience that he uses people such as Fox, Pit, and Capt. Falcon(I played him last night no-homo, and I got pwned).

Besides that, I don't know any advanced techniques in Brawl, nor do I want to know any because games won't be part of my musical life. Though, you can grab people, push down, and use some kind of an attack to hurt your opponent even more.

Reverse Aerial Rush:

Already knew all of these, and some of the Snake ones although I haven't practiced them and therefore can't do them.

This is not easy to do, and pretty much impossible with lag.
