hmm.. is mewtwo reali a villain? in the movie maybe but he never tried to destroy the world in any game.. he just chilled out in that cave of his until u barge in and start throwing ultraballs/a masterball at him.
and why does smash need more villains? ridley and possibly black shadow or k rool but if there arent enough good ones, they shouldnt be in just cos theyre villains. id far prefer a whole lot more awesum heroes. would you rather have one of the eggplant wizards from kid icarus or banjo kazooie?

It shouldn't but it may have in the original. They considered Bowser to be in but didn't make the cut. Maybe because he is a villain...some speculation involved there. |

the basic mascot-nature of Smash is naturally going to gravitate more towards heroes than villians. Not only are heroes generally slightly more recognized (and come quicker to the mind when you mention their game) but they have more screen time and tend to have more moves, thus it's easier to build a move set around their powers and personality.
I wouldn't mind more villians, but honestly, in the end it doesn't matter. In vs mode, there is no good or evil.
