you don't need to make an account for your friend . your friend can make his own account .

Alright.  I wrote a great big speech on the subject of bans in general, but then I had an error and lost it.  So, I'll post again, in shortened version.  This is just my advice; anything I say can, and probably will, be overwritten by Rocky's will.  If he says so, I'll amend this speech appropriately.

• I reccomend, unless he says otherwise after I post this, that you E-mail Rocky if you have any questions about being banned for something.  Don't debate your ban unless you have a damn good argument, and be ready to argue like a lawyer.  Apologies help as well, and if he still says "no," let the case die.  If you're not sure why you got banned, first just ask, politely, for a clarification of why you were banned so you can avoid it again.  If, upon receiving this clarification, you still want to debate it... good luck, you're gonna need it.  Obviously, if it's something Rocky has clearly said will result in a no-exceptions ban, don't even try.  And to avoid spam filters and such, state your username in the e-mail and, more importantly, the purpose of the e-mail.  Rocky might not feel like debating your ban, but he might also be generous enough to clarify it for you if you're just asking nicely.
• I'm pretty sure DJ's troubles were time-zone related; I've seen Friday software releases come out on Saturday due to time zones, for instance.  Rocky, when dropping the banhammer, would you kindly mention the exact time the person will be unbanned?  Make it relative to their time zone if that's not too much trouble, or at least mention what time zone the times given are in and let them figure it out for themselves.  Either "you will be unbanned on 11:59 p.m. of Friday in your time zone" or at least "you will be unbanned on 11:59 p.m. of Friday, US Central time," or whatever.  "You will be unbanned Friday" is pretty vague, covering 24 hours that may not, for the person being banned, all be Friday.

Yeah, I counted the days exactly from the time I got banned (24x7 hours) and I was still unbanned. OK, so making a new account shouldn't have been the way to ask and it should've been e-mail but yeah, I was really wondering why I was still unbanned.

Now as for being banned, I'm alright with it either way.

god damn you , DJ . i made this thread to clarify the website's policy . i don't understand why you have to come in here and make a big stink , as you always do . there's no reason for you to argue with me when i'm trying to make a public statement to the website . obviously , you're wrong , so you're just going to end up looking stupid .

within 4 minutes , i had placed a ban on your account . this was at May 15, 2008, 12:45:31 AM . the ban was set to expire in 7 days : May 22, 2008, 12:45:31 AM .

oh , but look ! here you are attempting to create a new account at 12:33:45 AM ! it's 12 minutes before yoru ban expires . but for some reason , it won't let you make a new one . i wonder why that is . . . oh yeah . it's because you tried to use the same email address as your banned account , and from the same IP .

then you tried again to make a new account at 12:47:17 AM , less than 2 minutes after your ban had expired . miraculous ! you were able to create a new account BECAUSE YOUR IP WAS NO LONGER BANNED .

My other account is still banned but it's been one week has passed. The IP ban is lifted but not the username ban. What happened?

Woah Rocky, I finally understood. That's why I was asking. Thanks a lot. I thought my ban had happened the night of May 14th in Poland. It turned out it was on the 15th of May in Poland, early morning. That's why I came 12 minutes before the ban to register to ask, then 10 minutes later to attempt a new account. I guess my recall is bad. Thanks for clarifying that Rocky.
