Well...I'm not sure but maybe they were able to raise the game of these CPUs. I don't know how but it really is possible.

That interests me as well. I couldn't see an option on the screen for a brawl where you could choose settings. I hope they'll have one in.

he mentioned that things like item switches would also be resolved by voting . that implies that each player does have their own choice of such settings .

Not to entirely change the subject but I saw a lot of people worried that the online mode would only involve 2 minute time matches.  I did notice that this mode is called "basic brawl", implying that there are different modes.  Also, I know Nintendo is aware of the fact that the majority of the people out there play stock (the demonstrator at E for All apologized that stock wasn't in the demo despite the fact that it seemed to be the favorite) so I think you'll be able to switch up.

hmm that time/stock question is wrrying. stock would have made e for all frustrating with ppl waiting to play but some hogs could just take their time, trying out mechanics etc or ppl who play too cautious would ruin it. of course the 'with a friend' option will be fully customizable everything.. and i was going to say theres probably a screen between basic brawl and character select, but it says 'you go straight to the chracters election screen' and judging by other games like pokemon battle revolution, evrything is set for random battles, you cant change battle rules. however i bet sakurai isnt going to be that stingy.

but since there were those two buttons (i think theyre buttons..) that say 'items' and 'stage'.. if stock was an option, wouldnt it be there too?

maybe it automatically uses the setting you've chosen for 1 player / local play .

well remember in melee you didn't hit a button for stock settings you hit that area of the character selection screen and the menu came up, that's present on the brawl selection screen so maybe that takes you to another menu.

There's no selection for choosing how many people you want to play against.  Most of the time i will want to play against just 1 other person.  It looks like we will always be playing 4 player matches which sucks.  I hope im wrong and we can choose how many people we play against.

Ya there's still alot of questions in the air.  I guess we'll just have to wait and see.  This game might be trickier to make online than one might think.  I was disappointed at first about there not being a ranking system.... but can you imagine how everyone is going to fight (especially in stock matches).  Most people are going to play like pussies if every match is ranked fighting as little as possible.  It's not the way the game is intended to be played.  So I understand why they didn't put it in now.  I trust Sakurai, he knows what he's doing.  They do need to include online tournaments though!

Yeah...honestly, ranking would make people play to win and not to have fun. As much as it's fun to be competitive...we still have to remember that Brawl is STILL a game and like any game, everyone should have fun. Expertism sort of takes the thrill in the game. It's sometimes fun to just be lackadaisical and fight like loonies. HAHA.

Well i see the play anyone scenario a great one for anyone who just wants to play. Sure you'll ineveitably come across a powerhouse that just wants to beat up for some easy, moral-boosting wins, but hey whatever. Thats what's great about the friend codes option because then you can fight as competetivley or as dorky as you want. What i hope that they do thogh is make the play anyone option very easy as far as interface and battle options go. If it takes 5-8 minutes to set up everything with options and voting goes then it could be a little bit of a bummer. I just hope that the customization for it all is smooth and user freindly. Sure us hardcore peeps prolly wouldn't care as much, but the more casual audience might get flustered with and serious complexity.

Very nice update. Smiley  I'm going to LOVE with anyone as well as with friends.  Finding random people on the internet and fighting them is what I do.  (Ex: Monkey Snowball Fight, Stick Arena [i think], etc.)  The only problem:  I DON'T EVEN HAVE REAL INTERNET!!! Angry  I just have an Air-Card.  It's DIAL-UP!!! Angry  My mom signed me up for 2 years of it.  2 YEARS!!! Angry  If I really have to wait that long to do online Brawl, then so be it! Cry

The roster for Brawl is already AWSOME!!! Grin  I will be very confused if the E for All roster becomes the beginning roster.  I know that was modified as to not reveal the starting roster but who knows. Undecided  This game can't come sooner! Tongue Smiley Grin

i agree, brawl-anyone will be my selection when i cant be assed organizing a friends game. thus it should be far easier to set up and just get onto playing. id get so annoyed if that mode was hectic to set up with heaps of voting to do. i think random stage and 2 mins is fine.

iv never actually tried wi-fi on my wii apart from pokemon and thats turn based so i hope my connections ok..
