i think it would be cool if you could grab somone mid air in brawl and do a diffrent unique throw for each direction.

For cases like samus, link and lucas they could chose which direction to use there throw in the air. For samus's she could aim her grapple below her when jumping over somone and grab and throw them, or catch somone abouve her. I dunno how this would work if you were trying to survive though. Using the grapple to grab the edge then accidently grab another player drag them down with you. It could work.

i think that this is a really cool idea. The only thing is tether recovery moves might grab a person instead of the edge when u need the edge to survive.

yeah i know i thought about that, it could be a downside, or it could let you win. Say if you both have one life left, your trying to survive so you try and grapple the edge. You miss and grab him but since there are unique throws from air grabs the down throw and that could boost you up when you throw him down. Like if you grab somebody in the air and throw them down it shoots you up a bit, then you could use your up b recovery move after. Thats the only way i think it could work well. After it shoots you up it would have to let you use your grapple again. In a 4 person brawl this could keep you alive quiet well.

its a good idea, but it would be tough to do. most characters have those mid air kicks that would make it hard. i think it would kind of be pointless, but thats just me.

i dunno it would be pretty sweet for the grapple characters but for normal characters it wouldn't work that well. Bowser can grab in the air in ssbm with his forward b and that seems to work pretty well. I think it would make a good addition to the game

It sounds like it could be a pretty cool addition but it seems like it would also be difficult to implement that kind of mechanic to the control scheme. While the controls for the game aren't complicated they still may take a little practice, with that i don't think they would add a fighting mechanic in which a different result may happen then what the player originally intended. Biggorons' example is kind of what i mean and the last thing they want is a game that doesn't have smooth controls. They will keep it easy to pick up and play but difficult to truly master.

But in ssbm the grab in the air is arial attacks.... i always use the Z button to hammer people away from me when im in the air. so i imagine they will do the same with the grab button in brawl.

It's a nice idea, but I don't think they'll put it in the game
