Yoshi...where is his representation

The only character I could see falling under Yoshi's egg symbol, other than Yoshi of course, would be the baby versions of Mario, Luigi, Peach, Wario, and Bowser.  Of them, the only ones I see making it are eitehr Baby Mario, or Baby Brothers (Mario and Luigi)

Kamek could also show up as a "Yoshi" character, but I doubt he's got what it takes to make it.

don't forget that yoshi's island is only the subtitle for super mario world 2 , so any characters appearing in it (including kamek and the babies) are still mario characters before ever being considered as yoshi characters .

Eh, I disagree.  If Yoshi's games are considered seperate enough that he gets his own symbol, then the babies and Kamek would fall under that symbol too.  Of course baby mario and baby luigi could also be dropped under the mushroom for their role in Partners in Time.

i disagree i think the yoshi and baby combos are crucial for yoshis gameplay so i thinkk theyre are more of a yoshi character than anything else but of course as mention previous the baby mario and mario (same with luigi) team ups could count because of partners in time.

They don't deserve their own symbol, but they do deserve to be listed as Yoshi Island Characters as opposed to Mario characters.

but yoshi's island is a super mario game . although it is commonly referred to as yoshi's island , the title of the game is really super mario world 2 . "yoshi's island" is only the game's subtitle . thus , yoshi is still a supporting character in this game , despite the fact that he is the one that the player controls directly .

in light of this , i'm asserting that it was not his appearance in these games that won yoshi his own icon , but his appearance in games for which he had primary ownership - those being "yoshi" and "yoshi's cookie" .

since kamek , babio mario , and baby luigi have no self titled games , they are unfit to don their own icons . since they appeared in none of the games having "yoshi" in the title , they also don't belong under yoshi's egg icon .

A valid point, I see what you mean now.  However, I don't think that Yoshi's old puzzle games are being considered here, since all of Yoshi's moves are derived from the Yoshi Island games and since the rest of the Yoshi games did not bear any Mario title, I would argue that those are now considedered part of the Yoshi series - seperate from the Mario series, and that is where the icon comes in.  Thus any character that is exclusively or primarily from a Yoshi's Island game counts as a Yoshi character.

Again, like many of our disagreements, there can't be any resolution unless we get some harder evidence or word of god (i.e. Sakurai tells us one way or another)

of course in the sequel to yoshisisland is youshis island ds and thats not mario anything! so thats that it yoshi series and the first yoshis island was both yoshi and mario see it can be both we all win lol
