Awesome! Thanks. I just kept using down+b and tyring to hold up after pressing, but that never seemed to work.

Oh my god, I just discovered that if you short hop with Ganondorf right as some one is coming up from an edge, and do a meteor smash, you can just slam them back down (he has one of the strongest meteor smash in the game).
