you may have noticed that the menubar at the top of the page now has a menu item that says "Calendar" . this will take you to a page that shows upcoming events on a monthly calendar .
for now , it shows the birthdays of all the members of the site . in the future , it will function to schedule all of our various tournaments . events on the calendar will be linked to tournament threads so you can just click a calendar item and be taken to the thread that organizes that tournament .
i haven't decided who will be able to add events . for now , only panda and i can cadd events . i might allow all users to add events , but only if you guys show me that you are able to follow directions and add events in a way that is thoughtful and organized .
another possibility is that i will choose a few helpers to assist me in keeping track of these events . don't start fighting over who these helpers will be , and don't bother asking me , or i will cross your name right off the list . as i said earlier , i haven't decided how to handle this , and for the time being , i don't need any input to help me decide .
i will also be adding some other significant events to the calenday (such as release date , and the dates of any significant press release events .
i just wanted to give you guys the update so you can have some idea of what's going on with the site .
