so when the stage (or camera) is turned upside-down, are the directional controls inverted also??

logistically , it would only make sense if you mark the left and right sides of the terrain and then make all controls relative to those left and right references . in order to map the controls to the absolute left and right of the screen , you would have to generate a singularity at the point where the ground is vertical . in this case , it would not be well defined whether or not the controls should be inverted .

so when you're upside down , pushing left on the controller should make you move toward the right , and pushing the jump button (or up) should make you jump downward . otherwise , people would suddenly change direction of their run during the tilt .

I was at my GF's today so I didn't see this this morning and just remembered to check it.  This stage looks very cool.  The Pokemon are sure to throw things for a total loop (literally and figuratively I guess).  It'll be fun to figure out the tricks of this stage and use them to mess with new players.

This is a nice stage. The one thing that bothers me is that the choice between D & P is random. Throwing the stage upside-down seems kind of scary. If you fell off the ledge, you'd fall upwards. After you lost a life, you'd recover from the bottom and fall up again to the platform.

OMG - I SAW THE THIRD POKEMON THAT APPEARS ON SPEAR PILLAR!

IT'S CRESSELIA!

I'd show you a photo of her appearance on Spear Pillar if I could actually upload the snapshots from my SD card!

She's really cool too - she unleashes what I think are crescent-shaped "Air Blades" (probably the Pokemon move "Air Cutter") that fly around the stage cutting stuff up - if you get caught by one you might well get KO'd!

And before you "correct" me Cresselia is one of the legendary Pokemon that do have a gender - they're always female - SO THERE!

So - has anyone else seen Cresselia yet?

yes, i had an encounter with her and she is just as troublesome as Dialga or Palkia

I like Cresselia though, she is one of my best pokemon for battles

If I'm having an important battle I hope for Dialga to appear - I find Dialga to be the least troublesome of the three - its "Roar of Time" and time-slowing actions are pretty easy to dodge and deal with.

I'd rate Cresselia to be the second most troublesome - her Air-Blades aren't too tricky to dodge - it's being sent flying into one that you need to watch out for!

Palkia is THE GOD OF SPACE-INVERSION DEATH - you know if Palkia appears you're in for a tricky battle - I find the best way to deal with the space inversions (esp. the most severe upside-down left/right ones) is to stand still or try to move as little as possible!

I like Cresselia though, she is one of my best pokemon for battles

Damn - I need to train my Cresselia - I caught her last year and she's been sitting in my PC getting lonely - I'll have to give her some love when I finish re-playing Sapphire.

I haven't even hatched my Manaphy egg yet!

I hate Palkia the most!!! When it's inverted, you kind of forget that the controls are inverted. I hate the upside-down thing...

Anyway, I've seen Cresselia like 10 times already...

i just flip my controller

everytime i play against you , you end up running off a cliff every time there is an inversion . i'm guessing your controller-flipping method doesn't work too well .

Well Sakurai, you really did it this time. Its a cool update, but Sakurai has now gave himself 5 more updates for 6 more characters. After I get Brawl, hell with the dojo, I'm not coming back. And I think the same goes with alot of people. Now I want Sakurai to do a double character update.

9.9/10 because he forgot to tell about Arceus.

arceus hasnt been officially revealed by nintendo yet, so he wouldnt be on there. but yes he is still in the pokedex if you cheat and get him using action replay.
