I'd have to go for Ridley on this one, though I'm nervous about his size. Depending on which game you take him from his size varies greatly. In Metroid Prime 3 he could easily hold Samus in his hand, while in other games he was scaled down pretty significantly. But seing has how Sakurai is in the department for baddies and we could use another gliding heavyweight he seems most plausable to me.

I just had to pick the most obvious one! HAHA! I love how Samus fought ridley in Melee's intro but he appeared nowhere else but a trophy. Ridley would just be sooooo cool!!!

although ridley is almost certain to be a boss, i can safely say that i voted for simon belmont(thanks for putting him on the list shadow) He is a legend and he deserves a spot in brawl as a playable character

Olimar. Definetly Olimar. He should throw Pikmin at people, and do that head-bashing thing. I'd also love to see a Pikmin-style stage. Have some Bulborbs wandering about, giant bits of litter, that sort of thing. I'm rather fond of the ironic combination of beauty and hostility in Pikmin, and would love to see a friendly looking but extremely dangerous stage to reflect that. "No lava? No spikes? No giant Gears? What's the worst that can happen?"

Deffinitely gotta have a boss fight with Ridley. He was even in the SSBM Beginning Intro, but never in the game.

Earthworm Jim. Christ. I forgot all about him. He ain't gonna be in the game at all. I'd go with Ridley. The Metroid franchise have been desperate for more representatives in Smash Bros.
