i was thinking of a tourney ranking system and i cant come up with much so if you guys have any idea on how  i can rank people and give them titles or something like that give a shout out .if you come up with a good idea i will use it if you dont mind that is.

most places keep 2 different ranks :

one for non-tournament games (single games) .
and another based on final rank for tournaments .

that's probably the best place to start .

It seems that tourneys are actually pressuring for newbies who don't feel confident so as an incentive, we can hold tournaments that just add points to their rank. That way, people would be encouraged to join the tourney.

However, what the official tourney does, besides plus points to overall score, is give bragging rights. It's just really a competition so more can really feel what a tourney is all about. There of course would be winners and they'd be awarded with big points. Don't you think that's great?

what do you think about this?........this is why we need divisons to seperate the great players from the okay players from the noobish players.percentages are fine and all but that makes it more complicated for others to understand.if we only track wins it would make everything easier.example-0-9wins-smash noob,10-19wins-smash novice,20-29-smash pawn,30-39-smash rook,40-49-smash smash warrior,50-59-smash knight,60-69 smash angel,70-79-smash demon,80-89 smash prince(princess),90-99-smash king(queen),100-109-smash devil,110-119-smash god,etc.then when you loose you losses makes you lose a point so if you keep losing you lower in rank&if you keep winning you gain in rank.this will work out in doubles,singels,and free for all.and making a clan could be benifical in doubels because you wont have to look far for partners.what you think about that?

that criteria doesn't give any consideration to the number of losses , so a person with 10 wins and 2 losses will fall into the same category as a person with 10 wins and 5000 losses . that doesn't seem right .

no what i meant was.....time for another example,say i was a smash novice with 20 wins and i loose a match then i would go back to smash noob.we will count a win as a point,these points will raise youre rank and losing will lower youre rank,so the point is to keep being victorious in youre matches and try to avoid losses to keep youre rank up.

Chaos I would suggest getting a smaller signature or minimizing those pics because theyre huge. But anyway I agree with your ranking system, maybe we could have like "levels" of skill or something? It would all be based on previous online tournaments and matches you've had for where the rank your name is put into. But yes I agree with your splitting up the Pros and the Newbs idea. Cant wait to see how it turns out

Rank by comps.  People are used to the comps.  With a 10 for those far beyond any computers.

well  everyone will start at the lowest rank and as they win will continue to gain rank,but if you lose then you will lose a point in rank.matches have to be set up,because if they areant then people could lie about there rank.so there will have to be someone monitering the matches(while betting if they want).i was thinking that a group of people agree to monitor matches every now and then.i still dont know how many ranks there will be.if i put to little ranks then they will crowded put if i put to many it will be harder to gain in rank.i could do number rank but i think that names for the ranks are more easy to understand for everyone,but thats up to you guys.

Thats a great idea, we should give the group of monitors a nickname though. Like MM's or something (Match Monitors). Anyway yeah the ideas sound good, everybody starts at the bottom and builds up, like going from Newbie to Hero Member lol. I like where this is going
