2/13 Special Moves: Yoshi*

Using Yoshi’s special moves obviously calls for becoming an expert at throwing eggs.

Up Special Move: Egg Throw



This is what happens if you just do a normal throw.



If you hold the button down, both speed and distance increase.



If you tilt the Control Stick forwards when you throw, the angle of the throw will be more horizontal.



If you tilt the Control Stick backwards when you throw, the angle of the throw will be more vertical.

The length you hold the button and the direction you move the stick allow for all sorts of combinations. If you can master them all, your range of attack will be really huge!

Thiiiiis huge!

Standard Special Move: Egg Lay

This move captures your opponent in an egg. Yoshi is pretty scary when he uses his tongue attack.

Schlurrrp!



Pop!



And off into the abyss...

If you get trapped in an egg in mid-air, you can move left and right to try to avoid falling off edges. Also, you can break out of the egg by tilting the Control Stick back and forth.

However, if you’ve taken a lot of damage, it will be harder to break free. So if you’re taking a beating, you’ve got to be careful of surprise attacks!

i thought sakurai said at some point that yoshis b-up would make yoshi go up when he does it in the air?

Yup, when in air, Yoshi can propel himself up. The one showed here is just how to range and change your attacks.

I could have sworn this was already a past update.
Nonetheless, it comprehensibly showcases Egg Throw.
In fact, I've never tried tilting the C-stick backwards for a vertical throw.

This little tidbit salvaged this half-update from Redundancy's clutches.
I'll leave the 'Schlurrrp!' caption "material" alone this time.
Too risky, if not used properly.

Is the range in brawl the same as in melee? Or did they modify it?

i hate the way he only gives us half of yoshis special moves. i alredy know them but why can't he include them all? seems silly to me.

Yeah, seeing all the moves wouldn't be a bad idea lol. At least Yoshi can throw where he wants as opposed to throwing in the same place every time.

This is actually making me wonder if Yoshi's Hip Drop (which Smash erroneously calls Yoshi Bomb) has a bigger range now than before.
