Unfinished Characters Cut in the Production of Brawl (Spoilers?)

It turns out that there were supposed to be MORE characters. This is presumably the reason of the delay. I mentioned in a previous thread that the first delay was due to the addition of more characters. And they did want to add more characters. And they did. Jigglypuff, Wolf and Toon Link are all added characters. This is my assumption based on their lack of roles in the SSE. Now, I have received news that Brawl was hacked and that there's partial character data for a certain number of characters. Here are the file names:

Other characters such as Sheik had the same file code: \RSBJ01\effect\fighter\ef_sheik.pac. So if you can decipher the code names, I need not say this but for those that can't decipher all, I'll list them:

1. Dixie Kong
2. Dr. Mario
3. Mewtwo
4. Plusle & Minun
5. Roy
6. & 7. Toon Zelda/Sheik (Tetra)

So we now know another reason for the delay. They really WERE trying to add more characters. It's actually a shame that these didn't make the game. It would have been fun to see Diddy and Dixie albeit Dixie might be a Diddy clone. We also have Dr. Mario and Roy, two clones that didn't make it. I personally wanted to have Dr. Mario and Roy in. Some added info, Dr. Mario's music from Melee is in the Pictochat level and this shows further proof they wanted to include him. It's another shame that Plusle and Minun didn't make it. It would have made a great Ice Climbers like matching. Imagine having them act like Pichus but together. I would have pwned with them. And lastly, you have WW Zelda. Tetra would have been so nice to use. It does make sense...Tetra's ship = inclusion of Tetra. But too bad. I don't know if I'm pleased or disappointed. All I know is, Brawl would have been GREAT with these characters. If we added these 7 characters, our roster would contain 44 PCs. Imagine that! 46 including the Pokémon.

And on a side note, I'll also list down the Pokémon and ATs that were apparently showcased in WHOBBY but got removed:

2. Rosalina
3. Duster
4. Pegasus Knight
5. Onix
6. Regigigas
7. Shaymin

Now here's my wish. I wonder, do you think the longer delay for US was made to include these characters? I mean it's a dream if these were included but do you think that's a reason for the 2nd delay? If it were, I'd be ecstatic!!! More Zelda = LOVE!!!

I also remember seeing this information but i wasn't aware that it was cause for the delay, in fact i thought that this coded info was from an earlier version of the game?

It's an optimistic view but why in the world would they give the U.S. such a drastic bump in content over the Japanese version? That's my main argument, i would doubt Nintendo would jip thier own populace out of such additional content so i can't really get behind the idea that they were added. Not yet at least.

Hmm...clarification. This isn't the reason for the delay. Well, not the 2nd one. I think. I just hope. As for the 1st, yes, Sakurai stated in FAMITSU around December that he's adding more characters. Yes, I remember him saying that. Search the thread for it as I'm too lazy to do so. Anyways, yeah, Sakurai did say that he was adding more characters and is one of the most probable reasons Brawl was delayed to Feb. 10. BUT, I'm hoping that they're coding this for the US release. The japanese version already has the partial character files in there so they could just release an extension pack. It'll be great to see these 7 in action.

Maybe not...haha. But since they had a triumvirate of Star Fox clones, they might as well make a duo of DK clones, a triumvirate of Fire Emblem clones, and a triumvirate of Mario clones. Plusle and Minun could give a better dimension to its spiritual predecessor, Pichu. Lastly, why not cap it off with Toon Zelda and Toon Sheik. That'd be great to see. We would finally have all the alter-egos of Zelda.

I can see it now, Dr. Mario, Roy, Toon Zelda/Shiek, and Dixie all have the Landmaster for a FS. Mewtwo on the other hand is completly revamped and is rightfully the most OP fighter in Brawl   .

Hmm...Roy would have a different one...but what to give?
Toon Zelda/Sheik would have light arrows too. WOAH! 4 light arrows, that's great. 4x the OHKOs!
Mewtwo...I'm thinking HYPER BEAM!!!
And for Plusle and Minun...uhm, uhm...wait for it...TWIN VOLT TACKLES!!! HAHA...control 2 for the price of one.

I give it no chance for us to get more characters than japan. Even if they thought about it, how would they set up online matches against japan? They would almost have to have some kind of downloadable update for the japanese version... Bottom line is don't get your hopes up, you're almost guaranteed to be let down...

its great that nintendo at least tried to put all of the charcters from melee in (except for pichu but he wouldve been replaced by pulsle and minun). dixie would have also been a great charcter but toon zelda/toon sheik confuses me. would toon sheik be tetra or sheik with wind waker graphics (that would be funny too see).

It's true. Theses characters would have been great.  I would welcome them all with open arms casue as they say: the more the merrier!

This makes me sad. Tetra could have had a completely new moveset. Maybe toon zelda would have been a clone but that would have been alright. Maybe when the next game comes out. Which I heard won't be for another 7-8 years but oh well. We waited 6+ years for this.
EDIT: And too bad there wasn't supposed to be a Toon Ganondorf.

Toon Sheik = Tetra. Well, anyways...I wonder too why there' a toon link and toon zelda but no toon ganondorf. HAHA.
