what's a derriere? hmm...weird to pick on a smash term such as a "dair." A lot of smashers have been using dair, fair, uair, bair and nair for down aerial, forward aerial, up aerial, back aerial and neutral aerial since melee. Or is this another case of Zamus where someone coined it and I just used it... |

I actually like this round of "clones" for the most part.
Luigi: 10/10 With completely different Forward and B and Down and B, even more retools to his up and B, and a completely different final smash, Luigi is far enough away from his brother that he is even more than before his own level character. I fully approve.
Toon Link: 7/10 I was a bit disappointed that his moves weren't further spread from older Link's, but some of his A game has been tweaked (Downward thrust). I was disappointed that he had the same smash, when there's potential for so many others in Link's repetoire. Still, Toon Link keeps Young Link's light weight, small size and speed, so he remains dramatically different to play, even though the moves are all almost identical.
Ganondorf: 6/10 Rather disappointed that Ganon didn't get his own moveset, but at least they've moved him a bit away from Falcon. Some of his moves, (his kick and his charge) are notably different and his A game has notable tweaks. And he has a different Smash (which is good since him riding the Blue Falcon would be funny, but get old fast)
Falco: 7/10 I don't play Falco much, but it looks like they gave him some A game tweaks, and his Down and B has a whole new flare which will majorly change tactics with him. Disappointed that he has the same Smash as Fox. With all the ships and styles in Star Fox, they could have given him more.
Wolf: 8/10 While I didn't think Star Fox needed more representation, I didn't have a problem with Wolf, until I saw his B game and Final Smash. He's not really much of a clone, with brand new moves and a completely different A game, but half of his B game are pretty identical (shield and rocket kick) and the other half are different but directly styled after Fox's remaining moves (blaster and dash attack). I know Wolf is Fox's counterpart, but with Falco in the mix already, it just came out as not trying very hard. Add to that a 3rd Landmaster (and the petty differences between them are totally negligible) and I got the strong feeling that Wolf was added as an after thought.
Lucas: 9/10 Dispite having mirrored B game, Lucas and Ness are very different. Each one of their moves has tailored differences in them and their A game is completely different. Their FS being nearly identical (I'll grant you that they have a bigger difference than any of the other clones save Luigi, but it's not quite enough) is probably the biggest gripe I have on them.
Lucario 0/10 Give me Mewtwo! Just kidding. Well, I'm mad that Mewtwo was removed, but despite Lucario being a "replacement" I don't see anything short of a blue fireball in common. He's a fun character, but I miss Mewtwo's style. I was very surprised that he wasn't in, as he's the only one who didn't make it (not including half the clones)
